Now my turn signals blink really fast as though it's missing a bulb.... guess the stock 1156's use more power or cause more resistance than the 194s, keeping a slower pace. anyone got a solution to this? or just put a resistor like with LEDs? oh well, no harm, no foul.

no pics of me doing the mod though. sorry! all I did was remove the corner lamps, dislodge the retainers holding the harnesses to the body, pulled the harness from the bottom lamps out of the corner lamp hole, and worked with it all in front of me (the passenger side I had to disconnect the horn since it was included in the light's wiring harness). so I ran a shielded 16 gauge 2 wire cable from 1 connector, along the harness loom, to the other connector, taped it all to secure it in place, cut the positives of each connector (which were all green with different colored stripes btw, the grounds were white with different colored stripes), and crimped them in such a way that they would swap lamps. took about 30 minutes.

Anywho, here's some pics! My truck wasn't turned on so the lights are a bit dimmer/yellower than usual. they're pretty bright. they might actually be too bright for oncoming traffic. I also turned off night detection on my phone while I took these pics. with it on, these looked bright as f*ck. much brighter than seeing by eye.20151227_180841.jpg 20151227_180900.jpg
turning off night detection got these pics closer to what I was seeing myself. actually, the pics are a bit dimmer than what I was seeing.

I ended up using 2357 bulbs to replace the stock 1156s. the locking nipples on the 2357s were offset compared to the 1156s that were even. i had to cut the higher one down to get them to fit in. it worked. plus they were dual filiment, so both of them lit together were way brighter than the single filiment 1156.

aside from the turn signals blinking too fast, im very satisfied with this mod!!

also, the now "fog lights" are kind of pointed upwards. which is why I think it might be too bright for oncoming traffic. on the plastic retainer clips, they're held on by a simple screw. I'm thinking if I loosen the top screw, it will tilt the light downwards away from oncoming traffic. ill try this and get back to you peeps.

Thanks for having the output pics. The 2357 bulbs put out about 100 more lumens than the 1156s (just over 500 for average bulb). I plan to use 1200 lumen leds. Probably order everything tomorrow. Been sizing up the 95-97 lights and where their deep and slim they should work better as fogs without sending to much light up. If if does I will paint bottom of reflector matte black.

I'm running LEDs in mine, after having followed Beau02's instructions. (I recommend this, versus standard halogen bulbs, for improved light output.)

Unfortunately, I have yet to find anything suitable for the housings (i.e., NOT HIDs), that makes the light truly usable. Even with high output LEDs, light output remains unsuitable as headlight replacement (your visibility). The good news is, it DOES improve others' visibility of you.
