I may be getting a 2010 TRD Sport. Immediate tire concerns. Don't want to get different wheels. I am running TA/KO on other vehicle - Is this a good choice in the 17's?
Winter driving/daily drive/not-much 4-wheeling for fun but need it for driveway in the winter and sometimes when it rains too much.

My new Firestone destination AT/s 265/65/17 have been great so far. No problems cornering and are not noisy at all.

But less than 1K miles so we'll see.

Foglights are for fog, not oncoming traffic!
    Michelin LTX A/T2...265/70/17.

I unfortunately did not get 4wheel drive. I dont do any offroading but the day i do need 4wheel drive I can only hope that i can maintain traction since i got the All terrains. Without that i am hopeless lol.

Just had BFG All terrains put on the stock rims a month or two ago. 265/70/17 in the C load, as I just need them for the snow and occasional off road use. They are great, love them.

    These look interesting.

On another note I had revo's on a different truck and had a freakin blowout so I am not considering those, weak sidewall! One reason I like the Ta/ko is that they are 3 ply sidewall. Are these or any other 3 ply sidewall besides the Ta/Ko. I don't think the Ta/ko have the best possible wet weather or snow traction.

I think the Firestone Destination ATs are the best "value" (i.e. price vs. quality) and Firestone frequently has coupons for buy 3 get 1 free.

I like my Revos after 15K miles but I'll probably go with the Destination ATs next.

The original Revos have been replaced by "Revo 2s". Not sure what's different, tho.

I have some Hankook 285/70's. They're the 10 ply AT-M from Discount Tire and haven't had a problem with them. Went with them due to the fact they were significantly cheaper than the BFG's. Not loud at all like my mud rovers were but haven't been able to test them offraod yet

Of the tires mentioned, or any other, are any of them besides the BFG TA/KO 3-ply sidewall?

There's a reason the Firestones are cheap. Remember the failures in 2000 and for those old enough back in the 70's? I'll never own another firestone tire. I had Michelin LTX AT/2s on my 06 4Runner and really liked them. Will probably move back to them when the OEM BFG Short trails wear out. Used to run BFG ATs, but their price fixing scam turned me away.

I got 40k out of my stock dunlops. But at 40k, they were literally bald.

But I just put on Toyo Open Country A/T's in 285/70/17, and I love them! They are as loud as the stock tires which surprised me.
