Drop bracket lift and booger welds
Had a busy weekend in my garage and at BPF with @Rebelimo @PSU Taco85 @planters15 and Mojo.

First started digging into the wife's car
based on the symptoms and the issue @ToyRyd04 pointed out that could have been the issue.

Took off upper intake manifold to find the one power valve was missing:

    73AC46A6-C68B-413F-8B76-FEA23F9A29D7_2c813cb4f6b006f05b40d9f23098f202f58e5a87.jpg

Fuck. So the plugs got bent up due to 2 screws bouncing around the cylinders. Wonderful. Hoping they got sucked out the exhaust valves. The this valve itself I knew had to still be in there though so I took the lower intake manifold off which also made me take off the fuel rail and smelled up the entire garage and house with gas.

But I fucking got the bitch!

    B99B9C05-4883-42A0-A505-A7D46FABDE05_ede534d400973e93c7079b4c71c991758508f5ee.jpg

    Damn mess.

Now I gotta order a new valve since this one's all bent up and take apart at least the upper intake manifold again next week.

After this exhausting mess I hit up BPF to unwind a bit.

    Drank Jay, literally.

Hungover as fuck the next day was spent fabbing and cutting. Woke up to a random flat:

Started cutting the sliders off to prep for the new frame. I highly recommend the diablo carbide tipped blades for the sawzall. Used a combo of a grinder/sawzall to get it done.

Meanwhile Ant went to work welding on my diff armor and Q went and removed the rear bumpa:

He let me take a whack at welding the reinforcements to the t-case skid.

First welds in ten years since I was in high school:

Ant took over and finished up the welds on the rest of the skid so I could continue cutting.

I highly recommend anyone with a skid row t case skid to do this. Mine bowed up so badly that it was rubbing the t-case and now has about an inch between the skid and t-case.

Diff was drained and filled with fresh fluid:

Still gotta pull the tool box, front bumper, and front cross member.

Hahaha yeah I sent that while I was driving to Ant's. I figured you probably were like who the fuck is this. :p

And yeah I went with the marlin crawler one because it looked the beefiest. The fit was a bit less to be desired because it felt like the rear of the diff wouldn't let it sit super flush. Ant made it work though.

Haha no worries, I saw the picture and was like damn, someone tore some shit up. Went through the same deal with my cover with trimming some of the diff cover to sit flush.

So I finally finished stripping J0hnny5 for the frame swap. Gonna shoot over to Langhorne Toyota at lunch to drop it off. She's looking pretty damn sad right now.

Since both CV's I have on the truck now have torn boots I rebuilt the CV's I got from Greg to have the techs install when they have everything apart. Aside from the one pain in the ass c clip, it was a pretty easy process, just messy as hell.

The boots are the SDHQ boots they sell. I am disappointed they don't include new smaller clamps in the kit like the OEM boot kit does.

Also celebrated Christmas and my wife put a bow on the bumper she got me:

Which was on for like a day till I finished stripping it all. :(

Gonna try to salvage this crossmember:

I always liked my rear bumper because of how stout it is but I think what drives me nuts about it is the fact that it doesn't follow the body lines of the truck. I know that it gives me more protection higher on the fender but the angle drives me insane.

Mocked this up as a future potential option.

I agree about the rear bumper, I've never liked how it angles up on the side. Makes it look crooked.

When are you slated to have it back with new frame?

Right? Hopefully it won't be too bad to modify. Really the only thing I hate about that rear bumper too.

And they said it's looking like 4-6 months. :(:pout: Gonna start working on stripping and painting the sliders this weekend.

Slowly working on the mess in the garage and prepping everything for when I get the truck back so that I can get it back to where it was relatively quickly.

    Painted my t-case skid:

    70E1AD62-4D1D-4FEE-8408-E7D8BDC00968_2b66f4ec4db0dfe1eb0fd10c2223f10fe6862e90.jpg

Added quick disconnects to the rear bumper:

    A2599B5D-93EC-43D7-945D-1B697BBB1222_f3c8980f205c0c2abac4b18ae2b16ea4b38eda41.jpg

Now I can remove the bumper and easily disconnect the aux lighting.

Also started prepping the process of stripping the sliders. The paint was holding up well where it wasn't being scraped underneath or on the pinch weld of the truck, but holding up well anywhere it wasn't rubbing on.

This is what I'm starting with:

    053001F2-08EB-4BCB-A61D-61F2747087A7_b271f2c890fbc120d98a4992f28612c7c967549d.jpg

Trying this stripper that's similar to the reccomendations @ToyRyd04 gave me:

    65A98ABA-E48D-4EF6-890B-AC6F23F3B735_cb0c0dda18de137cefa309ab6cf55ee475e13100.jpg

Letting it sit overnight and see how it works.

Wire wheeling will still need to happen I'm sure but it's bubbling up pretty nicely. My big thing is getting it started to where the bond was extremely tough.

Did you make the quick disconnects or buy them? I've been needing to make them for my busman box but have been too busy

 Just be weary that it may be 20 AWG instead of 16 like some people in the reviews are saying. I used them for all little LED things. Can probably find a heavier gauge somewhere out there maybe.

I'll have to find out what gauge all my stuff is before I order then, thanks for the heads up!

How long till the new frame comes in?

Not sure they are waiting on the frame itself or the parts kit. They last told me I'm looking at 4-6 months and that was as of last week. :annoyed:
