2016 Spare Tire Lock suggestion?

    Thread title says it all.

    I'm looking for a good spare tire lock.

    Landed at the airport and I Went to the parking garage and found my spare tire had been messed with. It was still there but someone had started to steal it.

    Any suggestions?

    I just looped the lowering chain through the tire and secured it with a padlock.

    I bought the Toyota spare tire lock. I thought about using the padlock method but dirt and grim could get into the key hole of the lock, mechanism can corrode, and you may not be able to unlock it when you need to. Also, consider flipping your spare over so the tire valve is facing down....makes it a lot easier to check/adjust pressure without having to lower the tire.
