I picked up my SR w/Utility Package yesterday! When I first looked into that Option, ToyotaUSA claimed that White was the only color available but when I went back to ToyotaUSA just before I gave the Dealer the Order I saw that White & Silver was ..... so I ordered Silver ... my 3rd Silver truck! I thought I'd have to wait till March to get it but some TX Company ordered 15 and decided they only need 10.
I really like the way the new 6spd auto works and in ECT mode coming home on curvy Ozark roads I did not feel short on power with the 2.7 ... of course it was empty ... but like most I'm driving empty 99% of the time anyway.
I've got all the Mods-n-Stuff that Moe & Others have talked about here coming. Wiper switch, Cruise and Fogs ;-)
Speaking of Fog Lights! Is everybody here sure that the 16s DO NOT come pre-wired for Fog Lights!??
I did a quick look under the hood and their seems to be some "loose" connectors there. One under the Windshield washer reservoir and one mid-point behind the grill. There is also a gray connector next to the radiator on the drivers side but that does not look like lights wiring. The Factory 16 Taco Fog Lights are controlled off the Steering Wheel stalk. Same set-up that was on my 08 Corolla. There I only had to get the light assemblies, relay and new stalk.
How about a HORN MOD?? That crappy single horn needs, at least, a new brother!!
Got lots of things to do on dreary Winter days ahead!!

    Merry January ;-)

Congrats on the new truck, fellow zoomie, and welcome to TW.

A word of advice. There is a cardinal rule when starting a build thread - you must provide PLENTY OF PICS! Looking forward to seeing some!

No Pics till all the Mods are in place ............It's just a basic-n-boring No-Bling Taco now ;-(
I'm not into bling but I do want to add some Black Side Mouldings for protection and looks. Anybody got any ideas. I found options on e-bay/Amazon that might work well.
I think the Silver with Black bumpers, mouldings and trim looks best anyway. That minus $1700 off MSRP for the Utility Package ... and minus useless seats and bling ...... will pay for the Mods and most of the Leer shell I'm planning to buy .... when they get their "tooling" set up for the 16s!!

Update! .........I'm slowly getting my Plain Jane Taco w/Utility Package SR Gussied-Up.
Toyota rubber bed mat, WeatherTech floor mats & rear mud flaps, intermittent wiper stalk installed and Cruise Control that I ordered from Amazon for $26 ... it looks & works fine! .... below:
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016EKM1DS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00
I didn't buy the CC "Hole-Cover for $15...I just drilled a hole, enlarged with my Dremel Tool, in the original cover. I cut a piece from an old bike tire tube. I glued it on the backside of the cover, slit with a razor knife and it works great as a "Dust-Boot" ... and looks like a professional job!
Just got a notice that my Toyota bezels are coming .. overpriced @ $61 delivered but ... what Ya gonna do!? ;-( I've already got the wiring kit and lights that Moe recommended but I'm putting in Hella Yellow bulbs in the assemblies that come with that cheapo-kit. Like others here, I had to modify the wiring harness as it was ass-backwards ;-( .. Will see soon how it all works out!!??
Also got 34' of body side moldings. A couple pieces of horizontal SS (Chrome) trim for the grill .. overpriced @ $48 ;-( but ..?! The body trim is black with "chrome" accents/2-1/8" copy of Silverado trim from ancient times. I plan to install it within the "indented" horizontal body portions ...rear of bed thru door .. Hope it works as envisioned? Got to wait for 60+ Degree day to "make it happen".
Still waiting to hear when Leer has 2016 Caps in production.
    Merry Winter? ;-)

I noticed the loose connections as well and thought they might be for fogs. Did you look into that any more? Sounds like you went ahead and bought the full kit anyway.

    Hi CoHiker,

No I didn't! I really need a 16 wiring diagram!! I noticed my buddy has a 15 4x4 that came with factory fogs with the switch on the dash and not the light stalk. Next time I see him I'll ask if it was a dealer install . or look at his 15 owners manual.. I know he didn't do it 'cause he don't know a crescent wrench from a hot rock!
My 08 Corolla CE was factory wired for Fogs and all I had to do was buy the light assemblies and new light stalk. My 16 Tacoma manual shows the same type of stalk for factory fogs. On the Corolla the wiring was taped up behind the bumper. The wires on our Tacos don't seem to be positioned for fogs? I was hoping sombody else here has a wiring diagram or has got it figured out!?

    Merry Hump Day ;-)
