for the antenna i don't want anything to permanent cause one day plan on getting a cap. then ill need to mount in a new spot after that too.

 

I had a cap on mine when I put the antenna on. It comes out It of tge space on the tail gate and sits behind the bed below the where the cap would sit. You can also do a bracket in the hood ditch next to your lights

 

i wish it wasn't so ugly on the hood right there cause it would be easy as hell to run the cable

 

I'm gonna be mounting mine this week!

You can unscrew the antenna off the spring and store It in the truck while around town. Then when you get ready to hit the trail you screw it back on

But, that little Uniden is a good little radio, for the limited range CB is good for. That's what I have.

 

Yeah I really like mine. Never more than 2 miles away from the other trucks so for my purpose its awesome

Exactly. It's been great.. And I love that it fits inside my center console, completely hidden. I dont want to replace it because of that reason! I just need to retune mine, and replace my antenna aux cable coupler thingy.. Lol its stripped so I cant fully crank it tight on my mount.. Maybe upgrade the antenna as well.

That's true didn't think of that.
If I had armor up front I don't dislike it on the front bumper as much as by the windshield.

 

Yeah front bumper looks cool too. There are allot of options to do.

 

What would be a solid upgraded unit?

 

Just one like andrew got. The fluffer. Something with thr weather band and a higher amp out put for further range.

I have the Cobra 75Wx. Only the Mic is visible. The box is under the center console near the shift. Firestick 4' Antenna.. but need to run a new antenna wire. I have an handheld SWR meter if anyone needs it.

Got all my green switches today.... just waiting for the bracket, then will put the sunglass holder to good use!

 

Probably where Snow has his on the passenger side of the shifter. It's too big to go anywhere else but the center console. Unless I change out my stereo for a smaller one with a double din.

That's where I want my switches. Did you go with the one from S-Podd?

 

Nope.... just a housing from Amazon to hold the new switches. One long rectangle hole cut, and voila! I think I'm going to make a harness and run it up the pillar rather than individual wires... then Sharpie the color code inside the pillar.

My Cobra has weather on it too.... but I can open the window and look just as easy!!!!
