I know about the tank average and trip average, but what average is this that displays on the head unit's home screen? It is over 1 mpg higher than my hand calculated mpg and fuelly. Maybe it's the last 1000 miles? I know I have stated that the truck is better at mpg averages than hand calculations, but this is way off at 1800 miles.

They aren't tank or trip because they don't match them

I believe that number is a running number based on the current tank. Whereas trip MPH is for each trip

But the tank average I posted doesn't match the head unit number. The tank average is on top of the second picture. The head unit number doesn't reset after fill up

Yeah...My Fuelly info reflects the head number with each fill up. That's why I thought it was per tank.

Don´t quote me on this, but I believe it is avg over the life of the truck since the first startup.

That's is the Lifetime average since your last reset. Haven't owned a 16 tacoma yet but all of my 4 Lexus vehicles do that. You can reset that as well as average speed.

There are two types of trips, one is since the truck was started, the other was since you last pressed "update" in the eco app. The one your asking about is in the eco app. Tap it to go into the Eco app, tap the button in the lower left of screen (I think it's "Past Trips" or "Trip Information"). There will be an "Update" button in the lower right.

Is Fuelly creating a weighted average for lifetime mpg or is it just averaging the base mpg per fill without taking distance per tank into account? That could easily create a discrepancy in an overall calculation between the truck and Fuelly, especially with so few data points to work with.

The total average on fuelly is total distance over total gallons
