I always see the stupid stuff in another's quote. I seek information from this forum. Not entertainment

A certain group of people muck up threads trying to outdo each other with sophomoric junk and GIFs I have seen a hundred times before in other forums. Especially within issue threads. . I try to stay above the fray and take the higher road by not responding to that which I cannot see.

    Check this manufacturer: http://lexerd.com/

Not sure if they have the screen saver available yet for the 2016 but they will custom make one to your measurements.

My Taco, is the 4th Toyota I've had with a navigation system. Putting a screen protector on has never even crossed my mind. I have them on my phone and iPad, because those get shoved every where, used outdoors and on occasion dropped. Since the truck one isn't subject to the same use and environmental factors, have never thought about it. Certainly have never scratched one. I would think the bezel, leather, and alot of other things in the truck would scratch before the screen.

I keep a small soft eye glass cleaning cloth in the vehicle to clean off fingure prints/dust. Guess it is small enough to put in that little storage cubby to the left of the steering wheel if one was still wondering what to use that for.

The screens have come along way from the first one we had. The clarity on the 2016 is nice. The feel and touch sensitivity of the screen is great. Nice having the sensitivity settings also. I don't know if putting a protector would impact that. Certainly nothing I would consider, but different strokes for different folks. Do what makes you happy.

You can probably use a matte screen protector for a tablet, just cut it to fit.

Had the truck for 3 weeks and the navigation already has tiny little scratches from the micro fiber towel I was using to clean off the fingerprints. Not a big deal and you can only see it in direct sunlight but still.

I contacted NuShield several weeks ago and they said they weren't interested. It was to complicated for them to create a screen protector that had cutouts for the CD slot and knobs. I'd be interested in one simply to hide the fingerprints.

Not yet, just picked up my truck this afternoon. But i have been in contact with a tech at location by me. The idea is to remove the knobs and measure to just below the cd slot. Cut and install.

Do the knobs just pull off or do you need a special tool to remove them?

Why not just buy a iPad screen protector and use a blade to trim/ custom fit one?

It actually just occurred to me that I could cut my own now that I have a cutter/plotter. Hmmm, this could be my next venture.
