How to install a Heretic Studios Wraith light bar on your PRINSU rack -

If you purchased a Heretic Studios Wraith Series Lightbar from us, we provide custom mounting brackets. They work as shown in the following pictures.

How to install a Heretic Studios LITE light bar on your PRINSU rack -

These are the light bars that Heretic Manufactured in 2014 and part of 2015. In 2015 they switched to the new wraith series. The LITE series bars came with larger brackets and I found that the best way to mount the bars to the rack was to turn the mounts towards the rear of the lightbar and bolt them directly to the front crossbar which is turned vertical.

How to mount Maxtrax, TREDS, or other Traction Devices To Your Rack

Most traction ramps have a mounting system from the manufacturers, in most cases these systems will mount right to the rack but many members on the forum have also found other ways to mount things.

    MAXTRAX

    OPTION 1
Maxtrax makes a great set of pins to work with their traction ramps. These pins are the perfect way to mount your Maxtrax. The bolts are actually long enough that you can drill through the crossbars and then bolt the pins right in.

    http://maxtrax.com.au/mtxmps/

    IMG_3187.jpg IMG_3189.jpg

The pins will not work with the crossbars in the standard position. Crossbars are on 10" centers and the pins must be installed 35.094" apart. With mine I simply installed the pins at the correct width (10.63") on two crossbars first. I then put the crossbar that held the mounting pins for the front of the maxtrax in the second small slot from the front of the rack. This point is stationary. With that bar securely bolted in place I set the maxtrax on top of the truck to see which large adjustable slot the rear bar would need to fit in for the maxtrax pins to line up with the holes on the traction ramps themselves.

    OPTION 2
@DoorDing offers up the next option for mounting Maxtrax.

Instead of drilling holes in the crossbars he created a mounting platform out of 1/4" polycarbonate. This platform gives you as much space as necessary to drill the holes and mount the pins for maxtrax.

The poly carbonate was bolted to the racks using machine screws countersunk in the poly carbonate and hex bolts which secure into TSLOT nut anchors in the crossbar top channel.

Door Ding 2.jpgDoor Ding 4.jpg Door Ding 3.jpgDoor Ding 5.jpg Door Ding 1.jpg

    OPTION
@kai38` offers up the next option for mounting Maxtrax.

Instead of drilling holes in the crossbars or creating a custom platform, he got some aluminum angle and mounted them to the sides of the crossbars using 1/4" carriage bolts (this will only work with the 2" x 1" crossbars with top, side, and bottom mounting slots).

With the angle bolted in he was able to mount the pins and then adjust the crossbars to align the pins with the holes on the maxtrax.

    Kai 38 2.jpgKai38 1.jpgKai 38 3.jpg

    TREDS

    OPTION 1
TRED makes a great mounting bracket with their traction ramps. Because of the numerous slots in the bracket you can bolt them right to your crossbars using 1/4" carraige bolts slid into the channels on the crossbars, or you can use 1/4" bolts threaded into tnuts in the channels.

    http://www.tred4x4.com/collections/all/products/tred-1100-mounting-bracket

    OPTION 2
@Chux knocked it out of the park with the customization of his roof rack. He had a set of treds to mount and did so using some aluminum angle and long bolts with wingnuts.

How to mount awnings to your rack.

Depending on your awning you will mount it a couple of different ways. ARB, Tepui, and CVT have a shorter extrusion backing and are easier to mount. Other brands such as Eezi Awn will take more effort and tinkering on your part. CVT actually come with a bracket that works great.

    ARB, CVT, and TEPUI

    OPTION 1
All of our racks have various slots for connecting crossbars in various locations. These slots are designed for a 1/4" bolt. Most awnings have an extrusion backing that accepts a 6MM bolt. Since 6mm and 1/4" are nearly the same diameter the slots work well for attaching awnings. We recommend using more than the hardware provided with you awning (typically 4 bolts) for more strength.

By using some spacers to get the awning off of the side of the rack you can bolt it right into the side plates.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...racks-bs-thread.317754/page-287#post-14124565

@scott96929 did an excellent job attaching his awning in the manner mentioned above.

    awning mount.jpg awning mount 3.jpg awning mount2.jpg

I did my personal rack the same way with some bigger spacers.

    IMG_4677.jpg IMG_4676.jpg IMG_4678.jpg

@SMKYTXN did his the same way

    trailtoys 2.jpg trailtoys1.jpg

    OPTION 2
Later on I acquired some CVT awnings which come with a nice heavy set of L Brackets. They work well to mount awnings to the racks and in my opinion the CVT is the best value and best looking awning out there (the black cover is nice). I mounted one off the side and one off the back of the rack in the same way.

How to mount bike carriers, snowboard carriers, and other thule/yakima type accesories to your rack.

Most modern accessories are built to fit a variety of crossbar sizes and shapes and will bolt right to the rack. If not, most companies like yakima, thule, or rhino make adapters. If all else fails, most accessories can be simply be bolted to the TSLOT channels.

Thanks to @RileyLAFD for this example of how to mount a bike carrier.

Great thread! You have gone above and beyond to make such an awesome product AND how to basically customize it depending on what accessories you have. Another big reason why I am getting a Prinsu rack!

Only reason I haven't bought this rack is cause I'm curious on mounting a 50" curved light bar... I already got the light bar so I just need to figure out how to put the light bar onto this... Any ideas?
