So I stumbled across a trailer that looks to be almost perfect for what I need and want.

Its a utility trailer that has a tent in a bag that sets up on the trailer. I needed something light enough that my truck with all the suspension modifications would still be able to easily pull and not pull the truck all over the road.

    • Camper Removable end gates (front and back) position and slide over trailer's sidewall track for interior sleep and gear surface area; Deck WIng panels set up to outside using trailer's sidewall track with added hardware fitting supplied. Dome style tent affixes around trailer's circumference.
    • Tent Fully-featured, spacious tent and rain fly with 6'10" interior height. Doors with screens on both ends (end gates are removed and positioned inside trailer)
Screened ceiling (great sky view) and screened bay windows.
      Tie-Outs and Tie-Ins (self-contained anchors).
Gear Loft for flashlights and small personal affects
Power Port for electrical wire pass through
    • Mobility Leveler Kit and Marine Jack included for mobility and stability off the hitch.
    • Dimensions (Trailer)
    • Bed Dimensions 86"L x 54"W x 24"H (7' x 4' 6" interior)
    • Overall (with tongue and tires) 123"L x 70"W x 41"H
    • Dimensions (Camper) Set up interior-7'L x 8' 5"W x 6' 10"H Deck Wing 84" x 22"
    • Weights (Trailer)
    • Tongue Weight 30 lbs
    • G.V.W.R. - 2,460 lbs.

      Payload Capacity - 2,000 lbs.

      Curb Weight - 460 lbs.

Construction - 18 ga. sheet metal over tubular “box truss” frame

Solid steel bed with 24” high sidewalls

C-Channel track integrated on top of sidewalls

Flat black powder coat over galvanized metal finish

End Gates - Front & Rear, easily removable

Axle - Torsion with Sure Lube bearing system

      20” Ground Clearance
Im going to customize the hubs to match the Tacoma lug pattern so I dont have to worry about spares. Also upgrading to the Lock and Roll trailer hitch system to be friendlier off-road.

On to the pics from the website, will update with my own after April or so. Using this as a sounding board and easy way to lay out my thought process for now.

@Crom any suggestions for a propane tank holder? For the 20# and where would you put it for maximum storage capacity? And safety while off road?

Kinda thinking just strap it in and remove when camped...

I looked for a bracket that i liked for a long time, and I settled on ratchet straps. It's not the best, but it certainly works well enough. General safety rules are to transport with valve covered, but no POL plugs, bottle upright and ventalated.

Attaching to trailer is a popular method.

Maybe make your own mounts outta some angle iron just build a cage around it and ratchet strap it in the cage?
