Anyone else having issues leveling 2nd gen nerf steps on their 3rd gen? Something must have changed because I also tried installing my buddy's 2nd gen Lund's to see if it was just my steps and those were also not leveling out. Hopefully someone can help shed some light on their experiences and potentially help other TW members from spending extra money. I just placed an order on some NFAB (T1580CC-TX) and these were specifically made for the 2016 Tacoma

I did hear there are some differences between the two gens. So of the Gen 2 steps worked others didn't I just installed my N-Fab today with no issues. mine is for the long bed. You will only use one bolt up front and two in the other two locations. I ordered mine through Runningboard warehouse and saved $130 with free shipping

Sorry I don't have pictures, but the 3rd gen has a bit more frame that sticks out on either side just behind the front wheels. Some steps that curve inward at the front will contact this part of the frame, peventing the mounting holes from lining up.

The 2 inch NFabs did not fit due to this (by about an inch), but the 3 inch version was not a problem because it did not curve in as much.

I put Lund 5" on my double cab and didn't notice any issues. I will have to look to see if they are out of level like the OPs are. Mine seemed fine during install.
