Not bad for a quick romp on back roads looking for a flood.

Just wondering what rpm shift point people are using? Any concerns with lugging the engine by using too low of an rpm?

WTF! I'm trading in my 2016 SR 4cyl AT and now have on order a 2016 SR5 V6 AT because the auto trains in the 4cyl keep searching for gears on the highway. I assumed the V6 AT would have more torque and wouldn't search as much. Mostly highway driving with occasional light loads. Please tell me the up grade to the V6 will some difference?

I thought the 4cyl. And the v6 have the same AT? If that's the case I would expect it to hunt for gears the same amount.

Has anyone done the vehical builder for the Tacoma on http://www.toyota.com ? I don't think you can build a truck with a manual on there? This doesn't seem right

They limit what you can build to current local inventory. Use a different zip code if you're looking to play with it, visit the dealer and have them put in an allocation request if you're serious.

Oh, ok, they limit it to my local zip. That sucks. And no, I'm not serious. I'll stick with my 2014 2nd gen :D.

If you are on Toyota's main site, just click the zip code at the top of the screen and you can change it.

Search on here....many AT trucks delivered and sold without a full fill of tranny fluid.

I have to say, between this thread and the thread on how to use (and capabilities of) a-trac, that I'm pretty sold on just going with a Manual. That knob that gets you unburied from sand paints a great picture, but a) i'm rarely in sand and b) there are other means to get unstuck as well, so I am no longer fooled by the fancy single use functionality. I found a dealer with an actual DCSB TRD OR MT that ISN'T claimed yet... so going to give it a test drive today.

Test driving is a wonderful thing, sadly you will have the exact same issues, just more power and less mpg with the v6

I got 20.4 mpg son the tank and it was trd or 4x4 auto. I really wanted manual but they don't come with push button start and I love the loaner I had where I never had to pull out a key!

It would be a cold day in hell if I brought a manual. I do a lot of city driving and cant imagine the constant shifting:burnrubber: in heavy traffic

I commute in my manual. It's easy to change gears in traffic, its not like you have to actually look down at the stick to change gears. Now if I lived in downtown San Francisco with all of those hills I would agree with you.
