Just got done ripping the bins out of the back. :D
What are you guys planning to use for a sound deadener behind the panel, if anything?
@docloco What is the size of the panel? Thanks.

edit: Doc - found what I was looking for.

There's some discussion about that in Nat's original build thread. You'll definitely want to use something because it's noisier than hell once you pull the OEM panels out. I also used open cell packing foam in the cavity where the cabin air vent (passenger side corner) because that let it in a ton of road noise.

You'll have to remove the seatbelt to access the void for the cabin vent. This foam deadened the noise but still allows air flow.

I used some more dense matting below this foam and inserted foam in the bulkhead braces as well.

A few audio upgrades, tinted windows, remote start because it f'n hot in Texas! 6in Fabtech DB lift, 17x9 Fuel Trophy wheels, 315/70/17 Duratracs,BAMF 80in sliders w/kickout, Prinsu cab rack w/30in Heretic light bar, custom bedside decals, custom hi-lift jack brackets, US Offroad front bumper w/winch, bed rack with RTT, CB, Short wave base station, Ultra gauge, color matched grille surround, an ungodly amount of recover gear, ARB fridge, hood struts, RotoPax, traction pads.
I have not insulated mine but I do have a speaker box on the passenger side and "stuff" on the drivers side. I have never really noticed a difference in noise.

I used some of this stuff. Can't remember the specific brand, but it seemed to work well. Couldn't really tell the difference between when the worthless bin was in and when it was removed. Of course, I have a bunch of stuff back there that needs some organization.

That's what I used on the bare bulkhead and then layed the foam over that. Thanks!

Hey @docloco, do you have the area measurement of the molle fitment portion? Buying packs and want to maximize. Thanks and sorry if I missed it.

Well, yes, but they come in different shapes and sizes, so over all square footage of the area where the molle can attach. sorry for being unclear.

No apologies necessary. Roughly 4' x 1.5', which is 6 sf. I'm sure it will take some trial and error to see what fits where best, clearances from one another, etc.

What do you say we kick this pig and submit this order? If you have PM'd me your mailing info already, I will send you payment information. If you haven't, and you signed up on the list, please do so as soon as you can. I will close this when everyone has paid or on March 2nd (30 days from today). If I turn in the order on March 3rd, with production and shipping, you should receive your panels before the end of March. I will keep all of you individually updated on order progress as I get the information from the manufacturer.

:yay:Can't wait to get this thing installed.
Got some of this foam, that Drainbug used, coming in soon.
Get that done before the panel comes in.
@docloco , how does this attach? I think Nat was using rivets, correct?

Me too. I bought that Shok deadener. I'll be installing that soon. The panel itself will mount using the two bolts in along that protruding support rib that would've held the plastic bins and the 4 bolts that hold the seat bar attachments up top. I don't think it will need any more than that, but doesn't mean it can't be reinforced elsewhere as well if needed.
