I recently bought a billt grill kit for my 06 xrunner. I can't make up my mind if I should go recessed or not. I searched through all the grill threads and recessed grill threads. I want honest opinions. I know it all eventually comes down to my opinion. But I want to hear what y'all think. Recessed billit grill? Or not? I also have the hood, corners, and lower bumper insert for this. Should I resce those to match?

tail gate lock, rear view mirror bracket, hood hinge brackets, and the list grows.
It also depends if your going to do a set of lights or a bar behind the grill

I had originally thought about doing a light bar cut out style in the lower grill in the bumper, with a mesh grill, but i dont think it would look right with a billet grill.

I've only ever seen 1 other person on this forum do a recessed billet grill. I'm more a fan of mesh myself which is what I did on my truck. I'm also more a fan of a recessed grill than flush. Flush grills can look good but recessed looks better to me.

I had a billet grill on my FJ but went mesh with my Taco. I also used the BAMF Light Mount behind my grill for a light bar

Thanks for all the help! I got it done yesterday. The picture is altered with the contrast so you can see the grill earlier. It came out pretty good I think.
