Just to be clear for everyone, typically when you see "100% leather" or "Made with Genuine Leather" this does not mean high quality full grain leather. Basically this is the scraps that come from cutting up the leather for other stuff, or the stuff they scrape off when making top-grain or corrected-grain, and those little bits are taken and put in a shredding machine. That shredded stuff is then mixed with some type of bonding agent like polyeurathane, then brushed onto the outer layer of piece of vinyl. Now they take a machine that presses a hot die onto it and adds in artificial grain lines to make it look like a piece of leather with texture. Now you have "made with genuine/100% leather" ... which is why you have some "leather" couches that cost $500, and some that cost $3000 ... one uses bonded leather, and the other uses full-grain. Typically bonded doesn't hold up very well in the long-run, and usually ends up looking like this: [IMG]

I would suspect for the price of these covers they are bonded leather, and I've been unable to find any evidence otherwise on the manufacturer's website. Typically if high quality leather is used, at least this much of it, you'd be looking at a few thousand dollars in material, and the manufacturer would talk in length about the type of leather.

Not trying to dump on the seat covers, they look nice, and they'll likely hold up for quiet a while. And for that price you can just get new ones after these wear out in a few years, but I just wanted to discuss exactly what type of leather is being used here. Not trying to rustle any feathers.

You can take your negativity and leave. I've personally have had first had use with the cover and have spoke with actual people that work at the company. The inserts are perforated leather and the rest is pvc vinyl.

    Agree 100%

Most vehicles with "leather seats" do not need leather conditioner. Only 303. The "leather" is vinyl coated except in the extremely expensive vehicles. I do not have leather conditioner nor have I needed it in many years. Just vinyl cleaner

Okay, I am only speaking facts, and not saying anything towards you personally. I guess we can just make this a safe-space for you and give each other hugs.

I just finished installing the front ($230) pair of Coverkings in wifes car. They look like walmart specials compared to the Clazzio. I don't care if they bond the leather with monkey snot. They have a proven wear record and look awesome. And just so you know I do have a liking for monkey snot bonded items.

I'm starting the install on my Clazzios right now. So far i just finished the headsets but they look and feel great! The leather is not even close to that cheap shity faux leather on the ottoman above.

Putting seat covers on! The clazzios work with air bags just fine! They use a special thread in the airbag section to not hinder the performance of them!

The headrests aren't even the "Genuine Leather" part, only the seat inserts, where you sit ... See the manufacturer's website here for more info: http://www.clazzio.com/leather-type.php

Genuine Leather will be one of two things: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonded_leather or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bicast_leather ... I am not disparaging what you are saying about the leather, and I am sure that it is quiet nice and comfortable to sit on. I am just saying that it is important to understand what we're talking about here in terms of leather, so that if someone is looking for high quality leather they can understand what these seat covers are and aren't.

I'll just go ahead and see myself out though, as I can tell I'm gettin people's panties all twisted up in here ...

    Joe,
I know what you are saying but in this case you are wrong. You can easily feel a difference between bonded leather and real leather, and the inserts are REAL leather, no doubt in my mind. I'm not even sure you could make perforated bonded leather? Do you have these covers yourself? If not, maybe you shouldn't be so 100% certain in your facts.

Just to be clear for anybody considering these, they are cheaper than something like katskins because they aren't 100% leather, just the center part you sit on. Also, these go on right over your factory seats, katskins need you to remove the factory covers first
