So, I'm going to sell my rear bumper with tire swinger to get a Pelfreybilt high clearance bumper:

I don't want to go with a swing out again. So, I got under there and did some trimming.

I'm sure I'm not the first to do this, but here it is anyway.

First, the exhaust. I was going to need to cut it anyway for the high clearance bumper. Well, it would look pretty silly if I didn't...

I know. Yes, I cut a TRD cat back. I put it on way back when my truck was going in a different direction. I scrapped the stock cat back when I couldn't sell it. Easier to just cut this one rather than selling it, finding a stocker, and swapping.

Next, the brackets that locate the stock sized spare.

    And, now it fits:

Yup... Spare on tire gate makes it a pain to access the bed.

But spare under the bed makes it a real pain to use the spare in the event you ever need it on the trail.

    Pick your poison.

My thought is this. I need to access the bad much more often. I'm thinking, if I'm going on a trail, I'll throw it in the bed.

Keep an eye on that tire. If you are running a 33" tire it could end up rubbing on diff. I bashed those brackets, that you cut, to far into the chaneles. So the tire liked to move toward the diff.

Hey thanks. It is a 33". Maybe I'll just throw a strap on it.

Ya you will want something to hold it close to where the stock hitch sits.

How much are you wanting to sell your bumper and swing-out for? I am moving to VA next week, which is at least a semi-reasonable drive to NJ.

I did the same thing, but used a couple big zip ties to keep the tire away from the rear dif. Without them it touched pulling out of my driveway.

    Looks good.

I'd go $500 for the whole setup including the lighted plate bolts and camera relocation bracket.

I was actually going to pull it off and list it this morning.

Ha! Just think if you get a flat on the way home from the grocery store. Having the the tire readily accessible could save the ice cream from melting.

Now, you don't want melted ice cream messing up that new kitchen do you?

I mean, it'd be irresponsible to NOT buy this setup... :D

Some great deals here! Are you ever changing up the truck! Mobtown front for plate bumper, and a rear high clearance. Cool!

I'd might buy the TRD tip, if you want to cut it back a little more.

I kinda regret selling the two that I had.

Sure. I'll cut it wherever you like. I was going to list it today. Just was't sure what to ask?

    You beat the edit!

I'm thinking maybe 3/4" from the exhaust tip so as to have something to weld to.

    Price??? I don't have a clue!

I didn't end up strapping the tire. Looks like the 255 is narrow enough to not rub the diff if it moves. I'll check,in a couple of days and see where it ends up.
