Despite growing up in Minnesota, I'm sure I'd feel the same about living up in Vermont and dealing with the weather. Beautiful state though. :)

Pretty cool you went to TSTC in Waco. I've known a few folks who went there and they seemed pretty solid. There is also another TW member who attended TSTC for welding.

Dont go to either of them places! Amarillo constantly smells like a dairy farm because of all the Farms around that area, and is just a crapass city. Abilene is a pure shit hole, nothing else needs to be said. If you wanna settle out that way, you should look into Graham or Wichita Falls, hell Vernon possibly.

If yall roll out to Apline or something that way, Hollar at us! We will glady jump in the truck here in the DFW metroplex and head out for a trip!

Sweetwater actually. Where the water sucks and literally made students in my class sick.

Lol I actually liked Abiline when I was there for a few days some four or five years ago. Quiet. But you're right about the farm smell... I can do without that. I'd prefer the aroma of refineries and chemical plants any day.

I don't know when we will make it out that way but I'll definitely hit you up!

...so the water wasn't that sweet, eh? :bananadead:

That was wild. Every time you hear about an industrial accident the Gulf Coast comes to mind, but that explosion unfortunately keeps things in perspective.

Thanks, it's Ingalls shipyard in Pascagoula, a little over an hour drive for me but if I get day shift they have a shuttle so I would only have to drive 20 minutes.

Structural welder, basically we weld together boats, mainly US navy ships and Coast Guard vessels.

Yep, right on the edge of Bay St. Louis and Waveland.

Cool man. That should be a decent job...I'm glad for you. And you're not too far from home but, what I know of Ingalls you'll have a chance to move around if you like. Great score!

Oh yeah, the job will be awesome.
I almost didn't even take the welding program at PRCC but ended up doing 2 semesters and it got me a job.

Now that I think about it, I guess I wouldn't be too surprised if a bunch of us have rode on stuff TW members have touched...kinda cool in that small world way.

Not at all. One of the locals was telling us about how the water actually used to be great, but then the source dried up or something due to the agricultural usage. I assume now they use a wastewater treatment facility. But people were literally getting sick from it, I mean grown ass men puking. We ended up finding that the kitchen at the school had a reverse osmosis water purifier, so we would all fill up our water bottles there. It was a rough 2 weeks.
