Nice job detailing. Is there a reason why you put the sealant on before the glaze? Most people put the glaze on, then the sealant per Chemical Guys diagram.

Good catch, I typed the steps wrong. My fingers were going faster then my brain. Glaze goes before the sealant. I'll have to edit my post. Thanks for catching that.

Not everyone agrees at that step. I would put sealant before glaze that way sealant bonds to paint. Really for a daily driver glaze is useless since it evaporates off. Not enough longevity for a glaze.

I agree. I wouldn't want to put an evaporative product (or any product, for that matter) between the paint surface and the sealer. Sealer is meant to bond with the paint. Why add a product between these two?

You're really choosing between two end goals- appearance and durability. If you go for both, there will be a sacrifice in there somewhere. Either durability will be sacrificed or looks will be sacrificed. And for some people, that's fine. But as ace said- on a DD, I would go for durability. And to be honest, there are plenty of straight sealers that improve the looks significantly on their own.

Does that underbody invisible spray you put on make it easier to wash mud off from the bottom? Or does anyone know if something like that exists? They have some spray to put on your clothing for that, I am hoping the same for trucks haha.

Looks good btw I need to clay bar some scratches on mine from tree branches and what not

Clay bar won't do anything for scratches. Scratches need polishing.

The invisible spray works awesome. Once you get the wheel wells night and clean they stuff really holds up. Mud and stuff will stick to it but I find it easier to get it off.

Like they said, clay won't help with scratches but does help the polishing process. It's like working with a clean canvas as a painter. Speed, the correct polish and pad selection is the key to getting scratches out

I've read about the steps and heard from people about using glaze then sealant. I wanted to see what the outcome would be and honestly it doesn't make the shine pop anymore then doing the sealant then glaze. Ace and harpolith, I agree that the sealant should go on first followed by the glaze.

this^ I seal immediately after cleaning the paint following a polish. Then glaze the paint and windows.

    Truck looks great!

So do you have to wax over the top of glaze or do you just glaze over the sealer and be done?

I personally dont use a wax anymore. I firmly believe with the technology we live in now and the advancements sealants have gotten there is no need for a wax. It just doesnt last long at all and some sealants now have the same shine properties. Unless its a show vehicle or a vehicle that stays in the garage i stick with sealant only. Sometimes i throw a glaze on top of it, if that.

But to answer your question, yes you can put the wax right over the glaze if you do so desire.

Same here. Sealants, it is. They're just so good nowdays. Although, I did try the collinites this year just for fun. But I'm back to sealants. The colli's will probably sit on the shelf. I'm now on the Duragloss train.
