    I only saw the doctored footage and interviews so I had no idea what was going on. I get it now

    As a fellow hawk fan - I think it's because of the timing. He did it while the focus of the day should've been on the superbowl. The same reason while people are cheering for Peyton for not announcing his retirement as he hoisted the Lombardi. That way all the focus is on the Broncos and the whole team.

    I think it's BS and people are just blowing it out of proportion. Maybe he did it so it would go unnoticed. Hoping all the focus would be on the game and he could make the announcement and stay under the radar.

    I think I would've just not posted anything, ever. And when next year rolls around just tell the team good luck with Rawls. Which I am actually excited about, though I will miss the skittles.

    Peyton clearly told every person listening to both interviews that he was retiring "I'm going to drink a lot of Budweiser" It's against the rules for any current NFL player to talk about alcohol in an interview or press conference. He knows the rules very well, It was a hint imo.
