Well I have decided to start a build thread of my new to me 2007 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4.

My goal in building this truck is to have a capable and comfortable rig. I love to offroad, explore and camp. Coming from a Jeep TJ, although very offroad capable, it lacked space and comfort in order to fit my exploration and camping needs. So I wanted an upgrade, and what better than a 4 door long bed 4x4 Toyota Tacoma! This is a start of a long term vehicle, and I cant wait to show you all what I make of it! Anyway enjoy my build, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

To start off, I picked up this truck on February 1st, 2016 with 47,546 on the odometer.

Before this I owned a 1998 Jeep Wrangler TJ, heres a picture just for fun.
    IMG_2586_zpsbtgbbubr_237f50b5ad81f5a5c01111c12a16a99c02631ed2.jpg

First thing I did was removed chrome plastic on handles and tint.
    IMG_2580_zpshni5nlh8_03c30e0fe7658277eff0eb384766ea551e2264c8.jpg

Then did the fog light anytime mod.
    IMG_2619_zpsaikocma3_544dfcf6b1ab7aadcfdc9fccaacff36ae046ba38.jpg

    Installed some 2015 mirrors.

I have big plans for this truck, but its going to take some time. So stay tuned!

Do the 2015 side mirrors have integrated turn signals? If so, where do you wire into the turn signal circuit? Also, did you have to modify anything as far as attaching them to the vehicle, or were they pretty straight foreward? Thanks in advance.

Thanks. The Jeep was a fun rig, wish I could have kept it. As for the baja, thats my dads 62 rag top.

Yes there are signals integrated into the mirror and the wiring was pre-wired from the PO, but I can follow the wires tomorrow and let you know. For fitment, no modification, just bolts into the existing holes.

A couple of you have asked how I wired my 2015 mirrors. So here is a little write up of how mine is wired.

BEFORE I SAY ANYTHING, I WANT TO LET YOU KNOW, I AM NOT 100% SURE THIS WILL WORK FOR YOUR TRUCK, I DID NOT DO THE WIRING MYSELF (AS IT WAS INSTALLED BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER) BUT I DID SPLICE INTO THE EXISTING WIRING AND FOLLOWED IT TO HOW MINE IS WIRED. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT YOU DO TO YOUR TRUCK.

I TOOK PICTURES TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY, AND HOPE THIS HELPS.

Well first off if you are Electrically inclined, this will be a cake walk. But if you are not, it might take alittle more time but still very simple to do.

The first thing you want to do is remove the door panel. If you dont know how, heres a link.

After it is removed, install your mirror. Pretty simple, just 3 nuts.

Once installed you should have a connection like this, except there will be 2 more wires in the empty slots. ( Colors - Pink and Purple ) Pull out or cut these from the connection. Then plug the rest into the harness.
    IMG_2831_zpsaxle8im0_ab0e9ba48ae99ef936dfb625d743ecb108ce8f31.jpg
    IMG_2832_zpsadzxcxns_ae817e47d3b415023821fba1af169526e92a0156.jpg

These are what power your turn signals. ( Pink = Power, Purple = Ground )
    IMG_2833_zpscdqcorgu_d4bc947cd7588a758b9b78f8825b26a9f3502a6a.jpg

Splice them into some wire, I used Pink to Red for Power, and Purple to Black for Ground. Do the same to the passenger side. Make sure the wire is longer on the passenger side to reach the driver side.
    IMG_2834_zpsk7x5ca6w_b6bb5ae256468050697cb949d243ad0a821ff2bb.jpg

Run the wires down along into the door and through the cab. Do the same to the passenger side.
    IMG_2836_zpsgbfobc5w_7be2bfaf55c03e02e01e7e5fddc759c10cd40709.jpg
    IMG_2835_zps1m9qphn7_898c1eabc3cd746e67eab024cbe7139b17733c58.jpg

To feed through your going to have to remove the door sill, and kick panel to access the wires. Once pulled through you should have them here.
    IMG_2837_zpscoxfh7kd_482b9e42b6c6fb0d1441e0ecb64fefa04421397b.jpg

Now comes the tricky part. Theres a harness behind the fuse box in a very tight space. I took a picture and circled it in red. Thats the one you want, its right above the OBD reader input.
    IMG_2838%20copy_zpswbwibqkb_3049bb918f7c273c3054c5762e1349f7cb01e4ac.jpg

Driver side power ( Remember, Pink to Red for Power ) goes to the Blue with Black wire. Splice into this wire. Passenger side power goes to Blue with Yellow wire. Splice into this wire.
    IMG_2839_zpsuabgvwvl_93fb0362d4282b7ab61daa182e9de6bc221a1988.jpg

Last but not least, dont forget to ground, PO grounded here.
    IMG_2840_zpsjrgpylab_90b7c2b89763d83a0ecd5d5b55d1f2b80bd6c872.jpg

You can test them by using your signals or hazards and they should work. If it didn't work you can send me a message and I can see if I can help. ONCE AGAIN, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT YOU DO TO YOUR TRUCK. Goodluck and I hope all works out.

Another question and I'm sorry if it sounds stupid.
I see that the mirror comes with a plug with 5 wires. Out of that plug you removed 2 wires, pink and purple. What do you do with the plug after you remove the 2 wires?
Can I still adjust the mirrors?
    Thanks
