How much of a drop in mpg do you anticipate?

This is like the 'bank error in your favor' card in Monopoly.

A guy I work with has the E tires on his 2nd gen and they have 60,000kms on them. TONS of tread left too.

Plastic dip badges. Upgraded head unit, husky floor liners, BFG ko2 tires.
Not sure from the stats I've been reading, I've been hearing 1-2 mpg from people, but this is my first tank so I will keep you posted.

Long story short: always be wary buying tires from small shops, many will often try to give you the tires they've got rather than the tires you wanted or ordered.

Moral: enjoy your awesome new tires on your awesome new truck, in a week you will likely have forgotten all this was a problem.

I can't speak to the size of shop, or if they were special ordered in error or not. One thing I warn people is to have the shop show you the tires before they mount them, and learn how to read the DOT date code on the side. I was having a set of the original KO's put on a truck a handful of years ago. I was running a 30x9.5x15 and those were usually harder to find in stock. Shop ordered them, and when I went to drop my truck off, 2 of them were only weeks old, and 2 of them were clearly dusty and had a date code more than 2 years older. I had the shop order me 2 more new tires, they can pass the old stock on to a different sucker.

Are you running stock suspension? And any rubbing? I'm thinking of getting TRD Pro rims with KO2s 275/70/17s. Any problems with 275s?

Stock suspension, Pacer rims with slight (maybe 1/8"-1/4") front spacers to clear the calipers. Just needed to cut a little of the plastic at the front of the front wheelwells just at the bottom . Just a tiny rub only on tight turns with wheels at full lock.at the front corners of the front wheel wells

Do you mind sharing how much you paid for the KO2 tires? The best I've got from American Tire Depot is $799.00 out the door, with CA tax included.

They pushed back? I would have fought it on principle at that point. Although there could be an inspection upon delivery clause relieving them of the requirement to switch out the product and pay for all associated costs -- you ordered a specific item and they failed to deliver. That's on them really.

Financially you did well. Me personally I wouldn't be okay with it. I have a 4cyl in Appalachia and buy load range c tires for a reason. I bought a set of E's once because the tire I wanted wasn't offers in a C. I immediately noticed on the way home that I had to downshift sooner on the mountains and topped them out at a slower speed. It wasn't much difference, but enough to notice. Luckily the shop let me change them out ( to another brand ) that evening.

If ride quality is your top priority, E rated tires are the worst choice you could make.

C rated is a much better ride, particularly in a lightweight midsize truck with a plastic bed.
