Yep, I tried multiple fastener companies but none have the correct metric bolts for my application. Also, their SAE sizes wont do as my application necessitates a level of accuracy that means compensating with SAE sizes is out of the question. I am now stuck waiting on an order for new shackles (I only need the hardware, but buying the shackles is the only means to that end.) I'm afraidd that the likelihood of said shipment arriving on Wednesday is quite low, and that is the latest date they could arrive that would still afford me sufficient time to acquire an alignment before the RRG trip.

Fuck, you were right. I was hoping you wouldn't be..

I don't mind using SAE in place of metric, yet there are certain applications where that is not feasible. I can't use SAE for my shackle hanger bolt because the difference between metric and SAE at that large of a size is too monumental to be negligible as it would be with smaller sizes. Also, none of the fastener suppliers in Ohio carry the size of metric bolt that I need with partial thread... if I go with full thread I will chew through the bushings within a week or so.

Unless your bushings are different, there is a metal sleeve that the bolt goes through and doesn't contact the actual bushing. So idk what you are talking about

Yes, and the SAE bolt would either be too large to fit through said sleeve or it would be too narrow. The metric, on the other hand, would be fully threaded which is a no go. Furthermore, the hanger bolt for the shackle does not have the metal sleeve that you speak of, it has bushing on bolt contact. There is no size of SAE to fit those bushings, and I can not get the right size of metric without spending almost as much on the bolts washers and nuts as I would spend on a brand new greaseable shackle kit.

Believe me, I've looked at it from every angle, and the head is too small for the shaft. "Just the tip" is supposed to be greater than an extension of the shaft...:luvya:
