Swapping out 2015 Overhead Console?!?

Hey guys,
I hate the overhead console in my 2015. It has 2 useless sunglass holders, and I haven't even found a damn pair that fits in there yet. I seriously hate it. I want one with a temp/compass display. I need one from an '09-12 correct? Don't really care about the garage opener. Has anyone done this before? Any advice? I know I can't be the only one.

Not sure what year they took the temp/compass out of the overhead console, but my 13 does not have it either(FYI). Sounds like mine is the same as yours. I do however have temp/compass in the rearview mirror. Maybe you need an 09- .

 

I thought it was just the 15. But it looks like @stmpjmpr doesnt have one in his '14 either... So maybe its the '09-12's that have it. My 2015 has the two sunglass spots and a plain Jane mirror. The last year of the 2nd gen and they remove all compass/temp features and the clock below the radio

 

I wish ARB made a Tacoma console like they do for FJs.

It's large and covers half the roof. It has more stage and a space for a radio too.

 

In the clock swap thread i was reading for my last project @adio mentioned he was doing this... Any luck dude??

 

Agreed on the 2015 Overhead sucking, I have to mash my sunglasses to fit in the rear spot, an earlier model sounds like a great idea.

If anyone has a double sunglasses console they no longer need after upgrading let me know. I might need one for a project I'm working on.

Id rather have a glare than just a piece of unusable plastic up there. I wish the console was either super small and cut off after the map lights or really big and useful like the pic iggy posted. Right now it just feels like Im wasting all that space. Thanks for the input tho!

 

Rad red second gen DC? How much for the rear pass side door if its not damaged?

 

I can never find any .... hook it up man. Dont really have anything to trade really. Got a union breather for the diif breather mod if you havent done that yet... and of course some cold hard cash

 

Oh you guys talking about this . As for the glare never encounter it plus I wear polarized oakleys.
