Looks like we were just a minute off. Sorry I didn't realize it was just rear gears. The install is all I still have to pay for right now as I have some 4.30 gears. You may remove me from the list, would like more info about the coilovers though.

The coilovers were rebuilt by Eric at Relentless Fab right before I got them. They were shipped up to me with brand new 650# Eibach coils. Both got new lower bushings and were charged to 250 psi of nitrogen as per fox spec.

Not really an update, but I got the old hubs off yesterday and am rebuilding them. Lost one of the little selector BB's but sacrificed an 11 in 1 bit that had the exact same size BB. In the process of repainting them. Didn't expect to get this far yet, couple midterms this week.

Nice, I rebuilt and greased mine over the summer. Kinda a pain in the ass job but needed to be done anyway.

Yeah it's one of those time consuming and essential things to check out, often overlooked.

When I did my IFS ones I over greased them at first. Won't make that mistake again.

And here the hubs are all pretty and clean. I had originally painted the dials red, but during clear coat I screwed the paint up so I just took the paint off and sprayed a layer of clear on instead. I like the look.

Also, picked up a 55mm socket from Napa (Part # SER 3912) since it was cheaper than Amazon by a few bucks. Now I don't have to use a chisel on the axle nuts like the last guy did. Pic is after I cleaned them up on the bench grinder and wire wheel.

Got my old hubs off today. In the process I realized my Snap-On air impact gun sucked and took it apart and lubed it with some 75w90 gear oil and now she purrs like a kitten again. One of the bolts holding the caliper on was a complete pain in the ass to get off, took me a good 30 minutes with the air impact gun, penetrating oil, torch, and sledge. Pulled one of the spindles off as well, going to do the other one once I crank out some more class work.
    Pics for proof.

That damn bolt from hell that fused itself to something trying to stop me from getting the calipers off.

Cleaned up the spindles and got all of the old bearings out of the hubs. Thought I was going to need to buy a new hub and then my brain kicked in and realized I'm good to go.

Also, removed the wheel studs and bought new ones. Those are a pita to get in when you don't have a press... Forgot to take a pic after I got a set of the wheel studs in, but hose are boring anyways. Also, my donor axle was from a '79. Just 13 years older than me  so the brakes are able to be mounted with 6 bolts, the brakes that came with my trail gear kit are only two bolt holes, but I think that should be fine.

From the other day, Hubs with the new studs installed.
Also, I ground down two of the old bearing races to help with the install of the new bearing races.

    Going to paint them today.

Pulled off the old brass spindle bushings and waiting for the new ones to come in from Trail Gear. Painted the hubs and will try and get the bearing races installed this weekend. Also, installed the studs into the new 6 shooter knuckles with my new torque wrench. Glad I finally picked one up, makes it nice not guessing what torque everything is.

Bored waiting for my bushings be like :tumbleweed:

Last night I rented a brand new bearing race install kit from Oreilly's, so nice for the install.

After cleaning up my workbench that has been dirty since I made it :anonymous: my parts look a lot better.

    Some Updates today.
New brass axle bushings installed so I got the spindles and knuckles all bolted up with proper gaskets.

Done painting the new axle. 3+ coats of black and primer under that.

Unrelated to SAS but cleaned my hi-lift a little and finally got a handle isolater. b81f83d337d7c11a1b14abb4e0810e77_25a27340e247c8cc827ddc2478c4acb247e00131.jpg

On the SAS note, I got the third in and once I have time I need to install the axle shafts, long fields, and then she should be ready to go!

@Ghost. And @benbacher want to help with the axle sometime?

Tech Question for anyone with experience, a big mouth, or helpful advice:

I want my rear suspension to roughly match my front SAS with 3" Trail Gear springs... This means I need about 2.5" more of rear end lift. (even with removing a leaf from the front pack)

    Please advise/flame/whatever below! lol

Option 1) Put in an extra leaf I took out of my current leaf pack (add maybe .75" lift), run an extended shackle for the extra ~2" of lift. (so 4" longer shackle about)

Option 2) Chevy 63" Swap and extended length shackles with possible AAL in the chevy leaf pack for more lift. Also, would need to change shock mounts and ditch the spare that is like a 28" tire lol

Only saw one option, but i would lower the front. Its going to be tall with 3" springs
