If you actually read the thread instead of pulling misinformation out of nowhere, you would have seen a video from the u joint manufacturer explaining how to ensure the seals are properly greased.

Could have been a $50k truck...
"Profitable" would have been a better choice.

"From my understanding almost all 4x4 trucks are made in Baja. Exception would be the manuals"

No, they make 4X4's in Texas as well... Mine was made there...and it's a beautiful 6 speed Auto that is not low on fluid.:canada:

    As far as I know 2wd/Prerunners didn't come with "grease-able u-joints"
Just had to replace 3 of mine, and the carrier bearing this past weekend at 130K miles.
It was squealin terribly when in Reverse.

Do you need to know, or care?
Mine was made in Texas too, and it's also a beautiful 6 speed auto that was low on fluid.

The VIN indicates where it was made.

Look at the first digit of the VIN. 3 = Mexico; 5 = US(Texas).

asked to check at the dealer... he told me that they don't have fittings... i told him what I've read here. He told me I would know if they weren't fully greased... took it to my local mechanic, who took pictures of the four fittings on my 4x4 and told me they did take a few pumps... went back to the deal and showed them the pics and shared my story... my mechanic thought the dealer didn't want to listen "cause yer a girl" :)

Stuff like this gets me heated. I'm glad you called them out on their pathetic BS. In my 43 years on this earth, having to go to a dealer for warranty work is hands down one of my least favorite things to do. I always feel like I'm dealing with the Wizard of Oz. "Ignore the man behind the curtain and trust what we say". "But I need to talk to the person who's actually working on my truck".

Hey Sweetie... there are 5 grease zerks...your mechanic likely missed the one at the front... it's hard to see....

Have him look again next time....

    Good luck.......:canada:

The factory usually does not grease anything. The dealer is supposed to grease as part of pre delivery prep. Many skip the prep to save money. Vehicle should be washed, tires armoralled ,fluids checked etc.
