So I'm going down to Hollister for the weekend gonna be at sycamore campsite if anyone wants to join in. Just a couple of my friends and I just relaxing probably won't even hit trails unless someone shows up. I don't like wheeling by myself but should be fun either way rain or shine!

Yea Hollister is easy in a prerunner on everything except the black diamond runs. And even some of those could probably be tackled with 2WD if you keep your skinny pedal down.

I'm heading to Hollister next Sunday the 7th (yeah, I know...SuperBowl) with my friend and his 71' FJ40. He's never been there and I'm going for the first time with a bunch of suspension upgrades to my truck.
Anyway..if anyone wants to go we can meet up at the gate at 9am?

Has anyone ever attended a Molina Ghost Run? I hear they're supposed to be fun and "very family" friendly. Curious if anyone here has gone to one (recommend or avoid?), or plans on going to the one coming up in May?

More shit then I ever planned on doing
Never done it but I've got a buddy that has. He says they usually get a decent turnout. Its normally run at Clear Creek in Coalinga but BLM has shut that area down so they are doing it at Hollister this year. I think he said it's a $50 registration fee.

It's a lot of fun. Poker hands, a dinner, beers with friends. Kids. Dogs. Wheeling. What's not to like? I've been going for a few years and have always had a good time.

Picked my truck up and in the process of modifying it. Now that I have a capable 4x4 any recommendations on some good off the beaten path Sierra trout fishing lakes? Since it is my first Tacoma preferable easy to moderately easy trials leading to the lakes to start with. Much appreciated!!

There's some Colorado Cut Throat trout near Mt Williamson. If you google it you'll find out the fascinating story of how they got there.

Plumas NF if you want to get stuck in the snow. Mendocino NF if you want to get stuck in the mud and clear some trees. Most of the sierras forest trails are closed for the season.

Sly Park and Stumpy Meadows should be free of snow. Paved roads to both.
    Foothill reservoirs are always accessible.

Love camping at Stumpy Meadows. But I heard they closed off University Falls. That's too bad because it was a pretty good hike and the rock water slides were a lot of fun
