Im pretty sure you're talking about the hiss from the pressing of the breaks, which sounds like its coming near the pedal. This is the pressure which is used to stop the vehicle.

I think the reason it is so loud vs traditional brakes is that these new vehicles have an electronic brake booster vs the old vaccum powered brake boosters. Idk tho. Just speculation.

I found out today on my trd off road that while listening to am or fm radio live you can hit pause and then the radio starts recording like a dvr so you can pick up again where you left off or fast foward and rewind. Kinda neat.

I think so. It's a premium Entune thing. I wish it worked on XM, though.

It's right on the screen when listening to the radio. Im assuming the radio package on the TRD models and up.

This may have been discussed previously in this thread, but I don't have the patience right now to read through every single page. So...

When I start my truck in the morning to let it warm up, then exit and walk away with the fob in my pocket there are three beeps. What do these beeps signify? Also, I haven't tried it yet for some reason, but is there a way to let it warm up and lock it until you return? This is probably simple but I don't know if there is a safety override for it for some reason.

Aw! Mine doesn't have it. I'm glad for you guys.
I didn't know it would be a feature on the premium entune package... too late now.

I think it might be a standard feature on the TRD Sport and up. I have the base Entune unit that comes with the TRD Sport, and I am able to pause/rewind FM radio.

No, you cannot lock the truck and leave it running unless you use the key inside your FOB. The beeps indicate it cannot detect the FOB. The vehicle will not shut off because of this, more of a warning.

So, to clarify, if I leave the fob in the truck and remove the key then I can lock the truck and unlock it with the key when I come back to it?

At the front of the box in each corner, they are small, about 1/4" in diameter...

You should have gotten two fobs when you got the truck. Why not leave one in the truck and the other in your pocket when you want to leave it running?

I'll try this tomorrow morning. I just used the key this morning and it worked fine. A little inconvenient when you're used to just walking up and touching the handle to open it though. I don't really like the idea of having both key fobs with me when I go somewhere in case something were to happen.

EDIT: I'm not bashing this truck before anyone assumes that. I know there's a lot of hate being passed around, mainly by those who don't even have a 3rd gen, but it's all love from me. Coming from a 99 4R, all this technology impresses the shit out of me.

In the OP #42 is only true if trac is off. Cruise will still work with auto lsd on. Sorry if this has been said before.

I found this recently too, by mistake too. It's actually one of those "million-dollar" inventions I had in my mind for years but never told anyone and then to have found it on my truck was bittersweet.

You don't have to hit pause, though. It starts recording the moment you tune to the station. It comes in handy for those, "oh shoot, I need to write down that number or website from that commercial or show, etc." moments.

Ditto! Hmm... maybe THAT'S where I can make my millions!

I discovered this yesterday as well. I accidently hit the rewind button while reaching for the volume. When I heard the same lyrics over again I thought of the black cat in The Matrix. lol
