It's the same motor is it not? Thought R was just the non street legal version. I know they used them to race in Baja and what not.

Unless something else crazy jumps out of nowhere, a 2005 KTM EXC 250 two stroke :yay:

Honestly I think I'm buying a bike a bit early for the season but who cares?? BRAAAAP

Nice man! I've been stalking ksl and craigs. I'm probably going to end up with something similar :) im set on a two stroke if I buy used just because of the cost difference for rebuild if something goes wrong early with the motor...

And no doubt. A deal is a deal if u find one!

    Awesome!

That's exactly one of the reasons I'm set on a two stroke too. I'm way less fearful of buying an older 2t verses buying a 4t because it's so cheap/easy to rebuild.

I think I have an idea for a temporary good fix for the rear until I can afford to link it. I'm just gonna buy those king air bumps but at the same time buy new lower shock mounts. Gonna cut off the lower mounts and re weld new ones on a little lower. Doubt I'll knock them off on rocks. They should be sturdy. That way I can have like 3" uptravel till bump and then an additional 2" of bump travel. Sacrifice an inch of droop for an inch uptravel. Hitting my bumpstops off every curb is getting old.

Also every other morning my check engine is back on so that's cool.

If it makes you feel any better Im in the same boat with up travel... Plus my steering is really pissing me off. If a new steering rack will fix it ill put of LT to fix it, can't stand the play anymore.

Anything I should do differently than you guys when I go to weld in my shock relocation so that I don't have the travel issues??

Tac weld the uppers and lower tabs in, put the shock in and tires on and put it on the ground. See how much up travel you have and adjust from there. Mine are at a 90 degree angle to the axle and I wish they were bent down a little to give me another inch or 2 of up travel.

Ideally i think youd mount the shock in the upper and cycle the the pack with axle to find where the shock needs to mount on the axle for compressed length. Thatd be the easiest way to retain all up travel.

Just a good amount of play in the steering wheel, then my tires catch the ruts in the road and just feels unstable on the highway
