I want to take my bed bolts out and coat the bolt head and bolt washer with POR-15.

I want to antiseize the threads also.

Can I just remove the bolt and then thread it back in without having to access the other side? In other words does the bed bolt have a nut on the other side OR is it threaded into a tapped hole in the frame or something that is fixed? Is there a nut on the other side that will just spin if I try to remove them? Is it a good idea to antiseize the threads, knowing that I may have to re-torque them from time to time due to anti-seize slipping?

Pulled the front two bed bolts, went smooth. Before I did anything I sprayed WD-40 on the bolts from below to lubricate the threads. I used a 3' breaker bar with a 1/2" drive T55.

Some corrosion was observed, knocked it off with a wire brush.

Cleaned threads with wire brush, applied zinc based anti-seize.

Apparently I am out of POR-15 (which sucks because it is super expensive) so I used a rattle can of high temp silver instead because it was what I had.

Once the paint dries I will do the middle two, then the rear two. Hopefully they will all go smoothly.

What started all this was that my bed was loose and making terrible noises, in diagnosing I observed the passenger front bed bolt to not be snugged down all the way. Plus I was sick of looking at the rusty bolt heads and washers.

I also observed when looking under my truck everything coated with SALT! :(

Got all six antiseized and repainted with no issues. The two at the rear had the least corrosion.
