I only view the fly's posts when it suits me.

Actually I did go on general fanager and the kings only have 2.2 million of effective room, or 70 K of space by seasons end, however you want to look at it to bring on another body. That includes moving one of the bottom guys into the AHL to clear space. Ladd is worth somewhere in the mid 4's, IIRC, right now. Quite simply, in order to make that sort of move, LA would need to dump 2.2 million dollars worth of salary. So, just going off the general trends in the NHL, I would say the Jet's are not really interested unless the Kings make it worth while for them to take on an additional 2.2 million this year. The Jet's don't like eating money. So what sort of prospect is worth eating that sort of money to the Jet's. I'm guessing the type that LA won't part with. Not unless they like burning up a high prospect and a high pick on a player.

Plus do the Kings even have a player worth that sort of money to trade to the Jets without hurting themselves as much as helping themselves?

The only way the Jet's get rid of Ladd to the Kings would be in a last minute, no other partners at the dance, kind of move. I could see that because then the Jet's have to take what they can get, but it's not really worth while speculating on that 2 weeks out from the deadline.

I don't disagree within anything you say other than to point out that the Jets aren't necessarilyattempting to "get rid of Ladd". I think they are, in fact, attempting to keep him.
The article is just another 'insider' attempt to attract attention, sell his insight and advertising space for his employer.
The Kings may very well not have room for Ladd in their salary structure. I rarely look at team's cap space. I would also point out that their draft picks will be weak given their high place in the standings, something that could make them less desireable as a trade partner.

I suspect if nothing of sufficient value is offered in return, Chevedayoff will likely just keep him through the season.

Oh, I didn't mean that they aren't trying to keep Ladd. I believe they are and they might hang on to him just to keep negotiations going.

Yup. That's my point too. A simple not so great first round pick isn't enough to grab a player like Ladd. They'd need to build a package and I don't think the Kings can afford to go there in multiple ways. There is tons of speculation because it drums up interest. Just look at this conversation. That alone builds up some hype and ratings.

I am still praying that Vancouver coughs up a first rounder for Ladd.

You never know. Vancouver always seems to try and reload rather than rebuild. I could see them selling off and buying at the deadline.

They won last night, but I see them dropping out of the playoff picture. ..but yeah i really havent a clue where their management are at with things. They just seem like a suitable target.

DS has earned the right to coach however he see's fit, he does not like to discuss players on or off ice, he respects and protects their privacy. he is a players coach 100%. Our room is tight, our team is one of the best in the NHL and we have the best fans on the planet. Thank you DL, DS and DB
so lets hit the next button and move on, DS will never change , no use worrying about it.

Now only 2 points out of a wild cars spot with games in hand and 7 out of the next 9 against Pacific Division teams

Whoa timeout - Chris, I never questioned you but do you believe what the majority of Lawless says, do you? I feel bad for Gary because since Kane left town, who can he focus his attention on now?

Maybe , maybe not , will know before the trade deadline though

Not sure where you are going here , they are likely to not trade guys like Vrbata or Hamhuis if they are still in it at the deadline , they aren't going to trade any of their young guys either way

I was being sarcastic. However, if the Canucks trade away draft picks or young players though this year they aren't thinking straight. They aren't getting past the first round.
