Looks really good! How many coats and how many cans did you use?

I assume it's matte black and no glossifier?

Thanks! I used a single can for the grill. I'm not sure how many coats, really. I sprayed it 5 times, maybe 6, but each time was back and forth from the top, from the bottom and from each side so I would get good coverage inside the grill detail. And no glossy.

Thanks for the info, I plan to dip the grill exactly like you did. Looks great!

I dipped my chrome rear bumper on my 2012 and is lasted 4 yrs until I traded it in. It held up better than my grill and rims...didn't even have to touch them up

Well, tried dipping badges last night, 5 coats. Looks like my coats were way to thin, resulting in making it impossible to peal off, PLUS, it rubbed off easy on the chrome SO F^%KING HARD to get that stuff off…almost an hour. Also smudged my paint a bit getting aggressive with the toothpick.
    Well, back at er :fingerscrossed:

On a different note, anyone dip their grill without removing it? After looking at it, I feel the results would almost be the same. Being in a public underground parking lot, makes it REAL hard to remove the damn thing, then prep for spray lol.

I just did them today. Don't take off, they peal nicely, hard to believe I know, but it automatically tears right at the edge of the badge.

Just a note thats never really mentioned….make sure after the first coat, the remaining coats are much thicker. I did 5 thin coats and it was extremely hard to peal off…too thin of a layer. Also, pealing the excess inside the 2 "A's" was really hard…and I ended up damaging some of the finish attempting it.

Anyone have tips on taking the tape off and not having it peel near the edges?
