I used to use iifym.com, but now you have to sign up to access the calculator, which requires a paid subscription, so I said fuck that. I found a new one that's identical, but the layout and website is cleaner and easier to navigate, so it was a blessing in disguise:

    http://whataremymacros.com/

I've seen folks put 10-25 lb weights under their heels, but I've never done it. I wear Classic Vans on leg day because they're so flat and don't have a lot of cushioning. Most people don't like regular gym shoes for squatting and dl'ing because they are so cushiony and your foot kind of moves around in your shoe. This is what I wear now on leg day:

I'm ordering these sometime in the future for more ankle support.

I know a lot of people like Chucks, but they look like clown shoes to me

Thanks! Looks like I've been going slightly over on the fats during my bulk. Currently eating around 2700-2800 cals a day at 170P/340C/80F.
Recalculated and going to be consuming roughly the same amount of cals but at 170P/400C/55F.
Hopefully that keeps me from putting on too much unwanted fat that I fear I have been doing for the past 2 months.

Also, Gotta love the classic Chucks :)

I officially joined the 1500# club about an hour ago! Hoorah! 435 bench, 470 squat, and 595 deadlift. For all my lifts I use Reebok crossfit shoes model cf74. Crossfit, I know :crapstorm: but honestly I couldn't find a better balanced shoe that allows me to lift and do cardio. Any designated lifting shoe isn't good for running and I'm not carry two pair of shoes to the gym

Nike Romaleos. They will change your life. They may not be the best for bodybuilding type lifting, but if you're going to spend the majority of your time on the platform they can't be beat.

Hey everyone, It's super cool to see a gym thread on this! I've been lifting for about 2 years now. I am about to graduate highschool, so I only have time to lift twice a week (however I am going to start working in a Saturday).

I do 5 reps for 3 working sets (plus 2 warm up sets). Here is my routine:

Tuesday: Jumps, Bench (140), Back-squat (180), BB Rows (105) and core for 5-7 minutes.

Thursday: Power Cleans (105), Deadlift (235..just PR-ed today!), Overhead press (85) and chin ups till you cry.

I am super pumped to get to college and start doing this 4-5 days... thinking about finding a olympic lifting club or something.
Also... anyone here watch BroScience?? (on youtube)

Hey man, I've been lifting for about a year now, and I'll also be going to college soon! Where are you headed?

Tom Platz with Arnold squatting with a 2x4.. Yup, that's where my questions regarding the effectiveness of powerlifting shoes came in.

Went and did chestntri's with my roommate today and when we finished up we made a dollar bet on who could do a longer plank and about the 3 minute mark we were both shaking and fucking dying laughing which made it impossible to concentrate on holding a plank. But in the end I won the dollar, and destroyed my chest. So great day at the gym. Hahaha
