    Howdy-

I have a Hitch rick that I bought from Harbor Freight ( ) and used with my old car to do dump runs. Has anyone come up with a half way decent way of mounting that in the bed and using it as a basket? I'm thinking for grocery/ dump/ bags/ whatever. I don't want to bolt it in, but if I just drop it in it'll slide around like a mofo.

    Any ideas?

A rubber bed mat will keep it from moving around.
Or, you can mount some rubber feet on the bottom of the basket.

Any D rings in the bed? A couple of bungee cords would work if you do...

So simple....why didn't I think of that? I was over engineering. Thanks to both of you.

I ordered one like that from Amazon, it didn't ship in time. I called all over town trying to find another, then realized this scooter was so light and fit perfectly. Now I'll probably call Amazon and return it, or try to mount it to the back of my VW and take the scooter out with it, sometimes.

I have one I used to use on my RAV4 to get gas in my 5 gallon gas cans. I'd mount the cans on it to get them filled, as they always leak a little, and I didn't want the smell of spilled gas in the car, and the gas in the carpeting in the cargo area.
Probably will do the same thing this spring with the rack on the Tacoma, since the rack is lower to the ground, and I won't have to hoick a bunch of 40 pound filled gas cans into the bed. Also, don't want any possible spillage in the bed or on the bed mat.

Yeah, it couldn't have fit more perfectly. Rode 420 miles no problem, minus a tiny scratch on the front fender from being against the bed rail. It was easy to lift once I backed up to the gutter in their driveway.
