Btw, thanks for the tips for changing the wheel bearings, I changed mine out last weekend and it was a lot easier. Can't believe how much better my truck drives now, my bearings were way over due for changing. The worn out bearings had created so much rolling resistance.

I think that toyota doesn't even see the diesel chevy as a threat to compete against because they are still selling trucks so until it really shifts in sales I doubt toyota is going to even bother.

    I really hope I'm wrong

I hope so too, otherwise my truck might see a Diesel transplant from that place in Texas.

Haha yeah I was just reading what I could from them yesterday. Ive thought about buying a halfcut truck. I think 2010+prado is the best option, but still a pretty penny to get my hands on one. I wish more info was available on the swap but diesel toys is pretty closed about the subject in fear that others would opt to do it themselves

Some competition wouldn't be a bad thing for us. Competition might force them to drop their prices.

Yeah they are quoting 10-12k for the half cut along which I think is a little high but I'm not a expert on the subject by any means. I think if one could verify transmissions mate, and engine mounts are close it could be very possible to get done by yourself. May have to run a standalone but being a toyota I'm guessing that may not be the case.

You'll have to either pull the fender off or reach from the back side to undo the clips, about 8-10 clips per flare

Yup no more fender liners, those fender liner clips are a pita I ended up just pulling hard ripping it out.

@Acerwin after the liners are out you can reach the clips, pull the fender while squeezing the clip. Its tough and likely to break 99% of them

I just pulled them off. I think I broke half on each side. Got a pic of where you smashed your pinch weld?

Just bend the pinch weld in, all the way up completely flat. You can make a couple of cuts for relieve or not, I didn't I just worked my way up. At the bottom of the pinch weld and about 6 inches up smash in a little bit more. For the firewall just smash it in enough to match your cmc, any more doesn't help because you'll rub your cmc anyways. You'll only need to hit up about 12-16 inches, don't clear what you don't have to imo. Take it easy on the firewall, hitting one place too many times in a row will break it, keep moving the whole thing back little by little until your happy not once place at a time.

Mount your tire real quick and go from there, no matter what you cut/beat you will rub something somewhere it's a process but above will atleast get most of it done
