What do you guys think about wheel spacers? Are they okay to use or are they bad overall? How big would you go until it be consider ridiculous?

    dont
go bigger than 1.25. and loctite the threads and torque them to spec. i have them on mine. the only issue is that it obviously makes the wheel stick out farther so it can rub on stuff especially your cab mounts

they add unwanted stress to the hub bearings.

poorly made wheel spacers can fail. (i have seen this before)

it would be better to buy properly spaced offset wheels.(jmho)

I agree. I actually bought them for mine and have had them on for about 3 weeks. I'm getting them removed at my next tire rotation and then selling them. I don't like them as much as I thought I would. Plus they make my tires rub. Not worth it.

i work for a major tire company and see too many bearings wiped out by oversized wheels with spacers. the wheels are hard enough on the bearings but add the extra spacing outward and the stress leverage added is a big deal.

Yea I don't doubt that. Makes sense.

If you get larger tires, you may need spacers (really wheel adapters) if the tire rubs on the knuckle. And if staying with OEM wheels, you may also need longer wheel studs. I've had spacers since about 30K miles; now up to 140K. I'm on my second set of wheel bearings but not because of the spacers.

ive had my spidertrax on for over a year with no issues to wheel bearings. not saying it doesnt add stress, and yes a properly spaced offset rim would be a better choice. it was a cheaper option for me thats why i did it.
