That's how mine is for the most part. The cover itself can be adjusted back a snitch....but it's a good seal at the tailgate.

not yet . I just installed it. no rain coming to Chicago any time soon. and its too cold for power washer outside(10°F) hahaha. maybe ill try car wash tomorrow

at the front im pretty sure that ill have to put some black RV silicone next to the 2 new foam pads that came with the cover, couse it looks like there is a small gap there. will see.

    Yep. Post #1069 here.

Some of my leaking may be from the poor hose hookup I did. I'm getting that squared away tomorrow and using a brass hose barb that should fit into the existing bed drain holes and will post about my results.

Please dont take offence, but as a consumer buying a product for my truck to protect the bed from weather conditions i should not have to put rtv sealant on the cover/bed rails of a 38k truck. There must be a better fix!

I think you misunderstand... The Bakflip folding covers fit well. But I you get into the bed you will find gaps between the side and headboard below the headrail, gaps at the tailgate sides running about 2 inches from the top to where the sides curve inboard and down at the base of the tailgate. There are all spots where water can intrude. There are a couple of minor gaps at the ends of the cover rubber ends. So This is not a 100% sealed bed and its not the covers fault.
Ther only rail issues are on the retractable covers like the Revolver 2.

The picture in post 304 clearly shows a gap that could be easily addressed by bak with slight mod instead of siliconing the truck. Other than the small holes which i understand are there i have still ordered this cover, i had 1 on my 14 taco also but didnt have gaps like that. The tailgate will be easily managed by a tailgate seal from extang/toyota since they seem to be the only ones with a 2016 taco tailgate seal to go on the bottom and sides.

I see the gap. It is a little larger in the pic than on my truck. Could be a minor adjustment to fix but this also where the plate is with the drain tube.

Is there such a thing as a spray foam that I could use to seal the rails and other gaps in the X2 mounting system? I'd like to use something that could be reasonably easy to undo if I wanted to take the X2 rails off.. like if I upgraded to a TRD Pro in 3 years.

I've used Marine Silicone to seal accessories added to a kayak and it melts with heat and dries clear. Curious what you all are using/doing to seal the gaps.

It's snowing right now, not rain, but some of the snow is melting(temp is 36) so I figured I'd crawl inside the bed and see if and where its leaking. As of right now, leaking is minimal, but its all coming from these two spots in the front corners:

    20160215_133228.jpg 20160215_133241.jpg

I'm going to have to get a caulk gun and fill these spots from the inside, I can't even see the gap from the outside.

Mine its pushed all the way to the front. i can't get it pushed forward anymore.i think I'm gonna use the leftovers from the foam strip to fill the gaps.

It goes on the top of the front of the bed, by the cab window.

What top are you installing. If it is one of the folding tops (F1, G2, Fibermax..) then I would not install that foam. It makes the rear rubber seal sit up. I played with it awhile then just go rid of it. I think it is a holdover from previous gens or other trucks as it serves no useful purpose.

not sure but it looks promising. depending on cost it may be worth a little experimentation.
