3rd Gen Magnetic Gray Thread

Weird thing happening. The grill is kind of growing on me. I have pretty dark wheels and the grill is the only thing offering some good contrast. Not sure if the grill will stay or go!

What color are your wheels? Hard to tell from your pictures. Matte black or gunmetal gray? I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on them, but worried at how dark they will be compared with the stock OR wheels. I like the OR wheels, but 7" and bad offset just won't work for me.

i really, really love the way they look. definitely gives the truck a different look than black wheels. in person, they look a lot better than in my pics.

 

Are they pretty close to the MGM color in your opinion?

 

Very close. In full sunlight you might say they are a tiny bit darker, but not by much. Looks like a perfect match at a glance, and I'm very color critical.

What grill are you getting? I think I've decided on a SR grill - no chrome...

 

NOT COOL man! I was halfway through asking where you got the back rack for the 3rd gen, before I realized it was a 2nd gen . But on that note does anyone think the 2nd gen back rack could be modified to fit a 3rd gen without looking goof.

 

Easy, cowboy! If the roof lines are the same, I don't see why not. There is not much difference between 2nd and 3rd Gen passenger cabs. I used riser brackets on mine to accommodate the tonneau cover. I also re-drilled the rack to fit the brackets.

My SR5 is sitting at the dealer and I was told I can't have it till the auto trans update has been added to the computer and it came off the truck 1.5 quarts low on ATF love the truck but I have already made the first payment itching to get in what I'm paying for but I want it to preform as intended so what a few more days

 

Dipped my grill today one little spot that doesn't look great up close. I think in the summer i will do it again. I had my 2011 for five years never did anything to it but put on a Wu Tang sticker haha. This website is changing me i guess!! Can't wait to do more!! Just waiting for my bed mat to be delivered should be any day now!

yep, haven't had time since I bought the truck to even play with it or put anything in it let alone do a proper photo shoot.

 

Shiny sob isn't it? Like the SR5 mags. If I could get a moonroof, that's what I would buy.
