    I have a 2007 Tacoma v6 Automatic 315/75/16 tires, but I'm going to get 35/12.5/17s when I can.
I kinda have the idea of getting 37s, but that most likely won't happen.

With a v6 and auto transmission what gears would be best for my rear end?

I don't tow or rock crawl and it's my daily driver too.
I did some searches on the forums and didn't know if the gears people used were in automatic or manual transmissions...
I'll be buying a 3rd member from East coast gear supply.

from what I saw a lot say with 35s to go 4.56 if your manual and 4.88 if your auto... I think it's more to compensate for the extra rotating mass and that auto has a deeper final drive

Yeah that's kinda what i looked up too. Manual runs about 400rpms more final drive. Just looking for more input on my particular set up.

I'm an auto on 35's, went with 4.88s.

It is comfortable at the highway speeds around here (55-60 MPH) and it hauls ass when you put your foot down. It also crawls very well when you drop into 4-Low/Low.

If I was to do it again, I'd probably go with 4.56 gearing. 4.88 sucks on the highway. At 70mph you'll be holding around 3,000rpm

I bought 4.56 3rd member from East Coast Gear Supply a few days ago...
I talked to a friend who lives near me. He has 2nd gen, v6, auto, 35s, 4wd and 4.88s in his and he said with my style of off roading 4.56s would be better. I go about 65-70mph indicated on my 35s on the freeway that's like normal or slow here in so-cal even though the speed limit is 65mph.

37's and 4.88 here (auto) couldn't imagine running 35's with 88's. Especially since you said its a DD

Man where were all these comments last week! ffffffffffffffffffffffff:censored:

Either one I will be and transmission will be happier with than my stock 3.73s.

Yeah I daily drive it, road trips, drive it around for work and off road when I can.

I don't know. Hopefully 4.56s were the right choice. We'll see I guess...

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
    Don't do 70mph?
