Wilbur is a fine looking dog! I have 2 rescued pitbulls, well 1 and a half, one is a pit mix, pulled her out of a shelter in Philly, Pa. just 2 hours before she was scheduled to be euthanized. Rescues make the best family pets imo.

 

This is Lucy. My wife and 3 year old son found her roaming the streets as a pup about four months ago (she is now about ten months old). She was afraid of men, obviously beaten, and was malnourished. We took her in and I spent the next week sleeping next to her crate until she trusted me. Eventually she came to bond with me, and the family, and we thought we had a keeper. We even put in an electric fence so she could race around the yard, got her shots, the whole 9 yards. She is fairly well-trained and a smart dog. Unfortunately in the last few weeks, she has bitten two kids in the neighborhood and the wife wants her gone. She is fine with "our" kids, but you never know. Dropping her off at the vet today, very sad, but if I can't find a home for her in the next ten days, she will likely be put down. It breaks my heart because I think she really has potential in the right home. Gets along with other dogs, but just something about unfamiliar kids and she just can't be trusted. How about Kitties? We visited this shelter in the San Francisco, South Bay Area just South of Morgan Hill. We fell in love with this sweet old man named Leo. Loves to cuddle and the ol dude was still super playful. We are not currently at a point in lofe where we can adopt another kittie right now but we did the dude a favor and sponsored him. This means WE PAID HIS ADOPTION FEE so anyone interested can take him home ON US.
