I ordered a set of VLEDS VX3 Gen 2.0 fog lights over the weekend and they arrived yesterday. Very fast international shipping. They're 20% off right now and are supposedly terrific. I want to do some lighting upgrades without losing the stock look and I thought this would be a good place to start, since I have already done the fog light anytime mod. 2800 LM per bulb at 5500k.

    http://www.vleds.com/vx3-h11-h16-2800lm-led-headlight-fog-light-1-pair.html

I will try to get the install done today or tomorrow and will post the before and after pics to give you guys some idea of how good they are, in case you're considering them.

thats 2800LM for both.... its 15W of LED per bulb... roughly you can get about 100lm per watt of led power.

Either way thats pretty good.... but i wish they had something closer to 4500k ... 5500k is too blue for my tastes.

"2800LM total output (per bulb)" is the direct quote from the website. That's all I'm going by.

I plugged them in tonight and first impressions were 'holy shit'

OK. here's some pics. They're just shitty phone pics taken in my sloped driveway pointing at my highly reflective white garage door. Not ideal but it gives a good idea of the spread. I will try to add some pics later showing what kind of range they have.

It seems like the beam is still nicely focused/contained and I don't expect to have any problem with these having fog lights on while approaching oncoming cars (as is the case with some other LED bulbs that just throw light everywhere). For 80USD + shipping and a 2 minute install I'm pretty happy with the upgrade. @nd4spdbh I don't know if they're actually 2800 LM each as advertised but I will have a better idea once I've gotten them out past the end of my driveway.

Thanks for the pics. Way 'yellower'? light output than I would have expected. I'm not a huge fan of the yellow lens on the silver bumper cosmetically but I'm too old to worry about that kind of stuff. Now that I see how much effect they actually have on the light output, I'm sold. I'm guessing they're a bitch to install on those bulbous fog lenses. You don't have them on your Taco?

Order placed for yellow lamin-x. I almost went amber because it looks better but my practical side won over.

Install on dome shaped lens is ok when using heat from heat gun or hair dryer.

i dunno... the cutoff with the original bulb is MUCH better than the LED.

And there is no way they are getting 2800lm per 15 w led bulb. Your lucky to get that our of a 30w LED setup.

it is a 30w LED setup. there's one 15w bulb on each side of the unit.

I don't mind the slightly wild cutoff and it doesn't extend up above where the low beams are so they shouldn't bother oncoming drivers. Definitely more coverage than stock fogs but that's kind of what I wanted, a pseudo driving light/fog light upgrade.

theres no way.... from the website each bulb "1.85A @ 12V - 1.5A @ 14.4V" thats right at 22Watts draw. Minus inefficiencies in the driver, thats 15 watts per bulb total. And even if it was a 100% efficient driver (which its not) 22 watts is < 30.

I don't know. It also says "Maximum capable output 3600lm"

It seems like there's some confusion/lack of clarity regarding the term "bulb". Each H11 unit has two bulbs on the post. I think each of those bulbs is a 15w bulb totalling 30w. That's the way its explained on the website anyway and VLEDS isn't exactly an Ebay Hong Kong operation.

Whatever the specs I'm happy with the performance for the relatively modest price.

I agree with the cutoff lines. The left side definitely seems to shoot up. Is there anyway to adjust them? I know some LED bulbs are actually supposed to be aimed to reflect in the housing a certain way. Right now they may seem like they're below you low beams. But you're what 8 -10 feet from your garage and they already raise about an additional foot form the stock cut off. Translate that to the distance of oncoming traffic and that beam may be up past your headlights. Just my observations, bottom line comes down to if you're happy with them and wether or not you see any negative cues from oncoming traffic

Yeah and if you consider the fact that the fogs are starting from a much lower point than the headlights they will continue to ride much more so than the low beams. You guys are right. I may not want them on while approaching traffic if people seem to mind them. I will likely test it out a little more, but if all these things are good for is adding 5600LM to my driving lights without having to mount a small LED lightbar, I'm happy.

I'm not sure about adjusting the stock fog housing.
