Will this work with the factory tonneau covers? Hoping to see a picture of it mounted on a 2016. Interested in buying one.

I sure hope it works with the factory cover, because I designed it with that cover in mind (in case I get a 2016).

When set at its highest setting, how much room is between the bottom of crossbar and the top of the bed side? I'm wondering if they are high enough to allow for my factory tonneau cover on a 16 to open.

Is there anyway you could make something that pivoted on one side? So for instance if you had a basket on the bed rails you could quickly unlatch one side of the bars and have them swing to one side so you could open the bed cover entirely?

There should be around 7" under the crossbar. Your cover will open, but not all the way.

Wish you could combine these so that the factory TC could be used with a bed rack :(

Do you have any pictures with the factory tonneau installed, and fully folded? How easy is it to adjust the bars along the bed with the factory cover? The reason I ask is that I would have to loosen the bars, slide them closer to the cab, fold the cover, then slide the bars back, fold the cover up the rest of the way and then adjust the bars where I would want them.

I really like your design but for all of us with the OEM Tri-Fold Tonneau these won't work.

FWIW I think if you could build a taller option for the guys with the OEM Tri-Folds to fully function you'd really be on to something

Why wouldn't they work with the OEM tonneau cover?

Maybe I'm missing something but doesn't look like they sit high enough off the cover to allow the cover to fold back fully. I just measured mine. In the vertical position the first fold sits 19" off the bed cap, in the second position it's almost 20" so the bars would need to sit up 20-21" off the bed for the OEM covers to work....hopefully that makes sense. Sorry, it's too dark to snap any pics.

    I see what you mean.

You wouldn't be able to fully open the cover, but the bars will mount up with the OEM cover. To lift the cover up, all you have to do is remove two screws to take the crossbar off.

I agree that would be fine until there was is load on the bars or a RTT mounted to them that would be too heavy move. I think the only option for guys with the OEM covers to run a bed rack is going to be to sell them and get a roll up cover or run a set up like yours and just crawl under the cover to access items.

Your set up looks really clean BTW. I'm trying to sell my OEM cover to go to something like yours.
