Yep I've already got the grill off. Had to put the bar in from user bumper though...

Ok will see what I can now with some new holes. Just sitting on the bars I'm really digging the height

@ThunderCookies Where are you planning on mounting your bar? It looks like we have the exact same one. I was hoping to mount it where I have circled below.bumper.jpg

I was going to cut out the plastic and mount it to the part of the frame behind it. Looking at the brackets that came with this I will need a large spacer.

I just removed the grill, used a right angle drill to drill through crash bar, used 5in bolts to tie it all together...

I think @Smiley52 had to remove bumper cap for some odd reason..

what kind of cam(s) you running? I want to set up some video surveillance out front too. I like the nest thermostats I have, they have a cam too, looks OK. I hate that you have to pay 10 bucks a month for cloud video storage though.

Yeah, I think I like the ease of wireless, still pondering. I just want to have evidence of any truck tampering or package nabbing or mailbox stuff.

My parents set up a game cam that watches their driveway after mom kept finding weird stuff happening with her car. Lol. I'm gonna go wire up their store with a camera system next time I visit.

I went with wired because it was cheap and all four of my cameras are within 10' of my DVR. If I had them spread out further, I'd go with wireless, maybe.

I think I put it there. My bumper looks a little different than that. I'll post a pic in a few when I go back out.

I just removed the grille so I could get the drill down there. Had to raise the light from underneath as there is some sort of piece in the middle of the area between the radiator and bumper that was in the way. It fit perfectly on the two beams from the crash bar. Drilled a hole on each and screwed it down with some metal screws I had around. Had to use a screw driver for that part as the space was tight and I couldn't get a drill on them. My knuckles paid for it.

The hardest part was getting my wires through the firewall. This literally took an hour and a half before I breached it. I ended up taking a metal clothes hanger and bending it in half then shoving the fat end into the plug that holds the hood latch. Once it went through I spread the clothes hanger apart to widen the hole (giggity) and shoved the wires through.

I'm not done yet but I ran out of time for the day. I also need to go get some more PB blaster as the bolt on the battery seized and I don't want to strip it. I'll finish tomorrow and light her up!

Cool, thanks! I pre-ran my wire harness and relay last weekend in preparation for this weekend once I received the bar (today). I didn't think I would be able to get ANY wires through the firewall so I went inside the driver side fender and in near the kick panel to get under the dash.

    I lost my shit here.

Oh, okay, so you just put it behind the bumper and didn't worry about cutting anything out. Hmm, I can probably do that too and save some time and effort. I'm assuming that with the bar sitting that much further back that it doesn't reduce the field of range for light output?

I've seen people mount it in front of that and behind it like I did. I don't know if they cut that piece out or not to put it in front of/in the bumper but maybe? I haven't been able to turn it on yet since I haven't finished wiring but I did angle it down enough so it should blast right through the opening when I do turn it on.

I'd be interested if I can wrap up my side projects that I have planned. If not this weekend, definitely next.
