OK, just bought an 08, 4 door, longbed, 2wd, V6 TRD Prerunner with sport and tow packages. First Taco and I am eager to add some mods. Looking for some performance gain. I started digging around on here and got some good tidbits, but I would like some suggestions. What mods should I go after?

You have the golden year for mods. So you can set yourself up right with a URD supercharger, UCON, URD equal length headers. That would be a very very good start.

I know this is kind of an old thread to be digging up but I bought my 08 back in July and I'm curious to why you say that's the golden year for mods? I'll probably never be able to afford the s/c but I'm definately interested in performance outta this v6. it's already fun but I'm itching to see what I can do with it.

Yeah, since its an 08 you have access to the ecu with a couple plug and play options. Specifically the UCON form URD. 09 and later had different ecu and connections. Very limited in tuning options.

The earlier year tacomas had more problems in general. Hence why 08 is considerd the golden year. Least problems, full acces to aftermarket.

Check out the N/A power kit from URD. It will boost you up a decent amount for the money and you dont have to buy the supercharger kit. That would probably be the best thing you can do if you dont want to go boosted.
