Tying down motorcycle in bed

    tri fold cover for bed,,, rain guards for windows,,, electric break controller
    help / question im taking my bike for a trip. tiring it down in the bed of my 2013 tacoma access cab long bed, composite bed... im sure the D rings in the back of the bed on either side are strong enough (pic 1) but im wondering about the front ones being strong enough (pic 2) and ive been told the rail system is just for securing things down not very strong (pic 3) mybike weights about 650lbs....any info would be appreciated,, thanksd-rings.jpg Untitled-1.jpg 2012-Toyota-Tacoma-TRD-TX-Baja-Series-tie-down.jpg

    I used the the front tie downs for my motorcycle and had no issues with them. You should be just fine with the stock tie downs. Good luck with your travels

    Just took a close look at the tie down points. The stock loops towards the front (OP's 2nd pic) seem to only be secured to the composite bed. The D-ring mod that was suggested would secure your bike to the truck frame instead of the composite bed.

    I think for a atv, the stock tie down points are fine, but for a 2-wheel machine I would feel more comfortable with the D-ring mod.
