I have had 2 tacomas since joining tw.. Both had same problem as many of you face.. Chrome.. I have tried plastidip before but didn't like the texture, or would come off easy... Buying a paintable bumper and color matching became too expensive.. Since other mods take even more money. I did some research and found this site www.Ecoological.com. I ordered a set of their bumpershellz! They fit perfectly!.. No paint!.. No mess! They come.in different colors and have found the white is a really close match to 040 the super white color code. It's definitely one of the easiest mods I have done on my truck and one of the most rewarding to now have my chrome gone. I would definitely look into this as a solution to color matching your bumper! Here are a few pictures I took during the process: @eCOOL1 has great customer service!340855ef6282eff0b6573c56236ea752_b5ee130fc80554a191271592361210097fec5e35.jpg876ec2723a3e306b3f2ef36ed97d5765_34129b9a746834c667451e2432875b2971cb54f7.jpg72b600ef3ec108ff42c6a7e85b8e1a0b_24d87e1386fbc75425d0240940d4719d3e6bb761.jpge24118b50c2e8f8b0b72c04cb1ba6fe2_041d70182760ccc11338dd70fc8e11dbda7c1fd2.jpg

Very nice..I recently plastidipped my bumper black. It looks ok but i doubt it will hold up over the years and i fear i will have to redo it every so often. This looks like a great alternative. Thanks for posting.

    Ask about our BumperShellz
Thanks for taking the time to post a review of your experience with installing BumperShellz. Your feedback has been great to help us fine tune this new Tacoma offering for a great fit and simple install. Definitely like the white over the chrome! For interested parties, here are some pics of some of the other available colors/patterns, including CAMO for the hunters out there.

    Ask about our BumperShellz
Here is a little more detail on how BumperShellz are secured to bumper:
1.) Flanges are constrained by tucking under existing step trim
2.) License plate lamp housings overlap BumperShellz and are screwed down
3.) 3M High Strength Acrylic Foam tape is used where not constrained by trim.

Here are some pics for clarity and an install is available on YouTube if interested at:

How easy are they to remove (adhesive tape) if I wanted to change colors or patterns in the future?

Use goo be gone and a putty knife to separate the covers from the bumper once off .. Remove existing residue

I typically use a plastic trim tool that is stiff enough to use for prying. I putty knife would also work, but I would suggest covering the tip with tape so you minimize the risk of scratching the bumper. Push the tool between the bumper and the BumperShellz as close to the taped areas as possible, trying to "split" the tape as you pull the BumperShellz away. Be patient so you don't damage anything. The residue from the tape takes some effort to remove, even with goo-gone. It's pretty secure stuff! The BumperShellz can be re-attached using new strips of tape, in case you want to re-install in the future, or pass them along to another Tacoma owner!

We currently only make BumperShellz for the 2005-2015 model Tacomas. Haven't got to the new '16 model yet. Regarding color options, we carry a few standard colors/patterns, including camouflage. However, we also carry a paintable version that you could have color matched to your "blazing blue pearl" . . . when we come out with the '16 model. Unfortunately, that's going to be a while :(, since we have a number of other models already in the pipeline.

I have a 2008 silver streak metallic. Do you have a match for that?
Also u have a dent in my bumper. It's not bad but it bothers me. This seems like it would be OK to put on over a dent
