Thank you my friend. I've only had it a year but it's been about 6 years in the making, and far from done.

Newbie question - I have a 2015 Leer 100XR shell on my Tacoma and would like to add Thule roof rack tracks.
Would someone with a later model Leer shell with factory installed tracks please send me the measurement between the tracks, side to side? Length of the tracks also?
    Thanks....

I scored a great Snugtop for $750 locally last night!

I'm gathering supplies to seal it up nice and tight. I noticed that on the truck that it was removed from, there was a putty substance on the front corners, I'm sure for sealing them up well. Does anyone know what this stuff is and where I might be able to find some? It looked to have held up pretty well and still seemed malleable.

Don't know what it is but it didn't work too well on a Leer 100xr. Corner still leaked. Those front corners are tough. Some one put a strip on the outside that did the trick for them. I might have to get the dealer to try that.

    HI all,

An update on leak proofing my 2016 Tacoma Box so it does not leak when a canopy is on it:

I took mine to a Collision Repair Shop and had them remove the Side Rail Caps and the Front Cross Rail and silicon underneath them to waterproof them. They also used a Urethane type material to seal the gap between the side walls and the front rail and they also used a type of weatherproof putty on the front rail on the forward outside edge.

I am also going to put a weatherstripping of some type along the forward out side front rail to cover the putty and the front rail where it comes into contact with the canopy.

So far so good! I am hoping that this will solve the problem.

Living on the Northwest Coast we get a lot of rain and a leaking canopy leads to mould and a constant state of dampness in the canopy so I need to deal with this.

I have a Leer 100XL and I am very happy with it and from what my research has told me Leer uses a high quality gasket on it's Canopies so I am hoping this is the solution!

Finally found a color matched shell! Leer 100R with windoors on both sides and factory installed Thule racks.

What does everyone think about about the a.r.e overland shell on 3rd gen TrdOR DCSB MGM versus just your standard a.r.e V series I'm choosing between the two for my new taco

Yup, but I can't take credit for finding it. NorthCountryTRD found the cap.
    Big score on that one.

I'll be starting a build thread shortly, but here's a quick preview.

Searched high and low, and scored this canopy for $150 in mint condition, all windows, screens and lift gate in working condition! Matching color too! Fit is 99% there, but working on some slight modifications, I'll post a pic again when I'm finished with it tmrw.

image.jpg Here is my ARE. Picked it up secondhand for $400. Wondering about how to go about sealing it up. I know I need to put a seal across the front, but what about along the bedsides?

Let me know what y'all have done.

Nice find! Seal up all the sides, front and side rails. This is what I used and its held up great, super durable material. There is detailed instructions that come with it. I would get some tailgate seal as well if it's not already, also helps a lot with dust and moisture. I used it as well, both pasted below.
