How about using 123D Catch? Turns photo sets into 3D models and its made by Autodesk so the models should export to CAD.

Maybe I missed it earlier in the thread, but where did this IGS file come from? Seems like Toyota would be protective of something like that.

Wherever it came from it doesn't work. I don't think anyone has been able to open it.

Unless it came from Toyota, it's worthless. And Toyota is never giving that up.

We got the iges to open...however we first did it with the incorrect options and i came in as a truck load of surfaces in one surface body, looks like. Saved it to .SLDPRT....was very slow to rotate and graphics/ram were running in the red. Mind you this was a custom water cooled super computer my friend built for running simulation and it still took 72 hours to fully parse and create the surfaces. We saved it..And this past saturday he clicked it to open so that i could edit it down to useable file size. Unfortunatley, waiting at his house all day sunday and the .sldprt still had not opened. TOO fn big. Surfaces suck to edit anyways and are usually larger.
I reset the .iges import options of SW to bodies imported as individual parts, which i believe will create and assy of bodies within there respective part files. Im thinking this may end up with a smaller size file than the previous attempt, and could also aid in editing it down to simpler only necessary parts/feature. Stay tuned...as of this morning it was still parsing.

What are the specs on the computer you are using to do this?

I know how much of a PIA huge aassemblies can be. Keep us posted and good luck.

Im a expert cad designer with 10+ years designing with various cad systems and mechanical engineer myself. With that said, im looking for engineering drawings and schematics to design for my 05 tacoma. I literally could create a 1:1 3d model based on how accurate the drawings are...So anyone who works for toyota get there hands on these just send them to me and ill model the parts for you ;) Seriously though i doubt a detailed usable model exists online today, so im presenting you guys with my skills as an option. 3D printing aluminum is right around the corner so you know this effort will be worthwhile considering how much we could print ourselves. Hell were basically making toyota our bitch if we could get these drawings/files so i think our best bet is to find some pissed off ex toyota engineer.

I dont think much but i have the long bed on mine. Either way i think the model you made looks great and could use it as a starting point. What you make it in? Any filetype works for me since i have access to NX, Solidworks, Pro E, Catia etc.
