every year during the last weekend of July the North Cascades vintage airplane Museum in concrete hold there annual fly in. It's a relatively small fly in with anywhere from 50-200 planes show up and enjoy a weekend away. Two of my friends happen to be lead restorers/mechanics there and are open to the idea of a group of Tacomas to show up and partake in the festivities. I'm trying to gauge interest and see how many people are available/ interested. If some of the skagit county guys know of any fun trails/scenic drives in that area I'm sure we could put together a group run.

Sounds like fun. I've got a pretty busy summer but unless I'm forgetting something, it appears that weekend is open for me. I'd probably make a weekend out of it and camp somewhere.

There is camping available at the airport itself, depending on how many people show up we should have the north eastern corner of the airport to ourselves

Mostly use whatever. If we have a group I can talk to Drew and get us a corner that allows us easy access in and out.

The fly-in is on the books and locked in! My attendance is in question though with my GF being pregnant and a concert at whiteriver happening on Saturday. Anyone is free to show up and hangout.

I'm thinking with @Usethe2nd understandably on the fence due to baby watch I might try something a little different for this weekend in the same area.

I have been looking at the FS maps in the area between Hwy 530 out to Darrington and Hwy 20 that runs through Concrete and it looks like there are FS roads that connect through the mountains there. I'm thinking maybe head North from Whitehorse and see if we can make it all the way up Concrete via NF18 and NF17 and then maybe drop in at the fly-in depending on time then head down the road a ways to the Sauk river where a few of us explored a couple months ago and then camp out there for the night. Would anyone else be interested in trying this run?
