I had an original one on my 1999 tacoma until it got stolen. My replacement 2002 just has a flip door. I know I could get a dinky locking fuel cap, but I really liked that locking door! Thanks

Your locking door got stolen. That's kind of funny. I disabled the lock on mine, needing a key just irritates me.

I think the whole truck was stolen...not just the fuel door...
Hence the reference to the replacement 2002....
    But I could be wrong...

Sentence structure... regardless of the truth I'll continue thinking only the locking door was stolen because that makes me smile. :)

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Just buy a replacement one for an older Taco and slap it in there. Don't see why they wouldn't be interchangeable.

the piece that latches is different and needs changed out (I remember a post on this somewhere) so a donor vehicle may be a good idea

The latch breaks anyways. Why did Toyota choose to make it out of plastic .
My latch broke but two nice small magnets keep it shut now.

Hate that lock. Had it freeze up a couple times and not be able to get gas.

Could always go with a locking fuel cap as well. Seems to be the easiest way and I used to swear by them in my older 70's Ford trucks because they were pathetically easy to siphon gas out of.
