I have a tacoma 2013 TRD I recently change my radio of my tacoma to a oem 2014 tacoma radio (photo attached) and also change the steering wheel controls of my 2013 to 2014 (Photo attached). The problem is almost every control work's but the option of back and left and right don't work and the steering wheel controls don't illuminate.I want to know if there is a solution for that problem. The part # PT546-00120-CH can solve my problem? Photos or videos will be appreciated. Thanks

    Look here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2014-navigation-unit-in-2013.304014/page-10#post-8321700

Pin 9 on the S8 plug needs to be grounded to illuminate the controls.
Pin 3 on the S8 needs to be brought back to pin 24 on the 28 pin pin plug on the back of the HU.

I've been wanting to get this done to my 2013 Tacoma since i bought it. Anyone know of a shop or anyone really in few hours driving distance from New Orleans, LA that can do it? I dont have the skill or knowledge to even attempt this myself.

If you still have the '13 radio in then this mod will do you no good. You must have changed radios to a '14 or '15 model radio.

Just got a hold of a 2014 Nav/Sat radio and was wanting a little advice. My 2013 tacoma did not have the shark fin and was not wired for XM/Sirius. I have the tuner on the radio and was wondering what kind of adapter do i need to buy or antenna to get this working. Searched the forums and saw something about getting the shark fin adapter and connecting it with a Fakra adapter into a normal square Sirius/XM antenna you get off any satellite radio unit. If this is the best solution what is the type adapter i need.

    Thanks!

I have a 2013 JBL Entune w/ Nav... Is it plug and play to upgrade to a 2014/15 model?

It's not easy but can be done. I went from a '13 JBL to a '15 JBL. You must use the JBL version when you upgrade. Your '13 JBL has a 20 pin plug while the '14/'15 have the 10 and 6 pin plugs. You will have to rewire your harness.

Copy that, from this thread also sounds like I would need a VIN from a '14/15... Too much work for a slight upgrade. Thanks!

Thanks for posting so much information on how to mod our vehicle. I wouldn’t have even tried to attempt a mod like this without help from TW members. I seem to hit a road block. I have a 2010 JBL head unit and just purchased a 2014 JBL Entune/Nav unit from a member on TW. Here are the parts I have so far. I’ve read many post all over this audio/video forum. There is a lot more information about non-Jbl version vs the JBL version. I attempted to connect everything today and noticed that my main power and speaker connection doesn’t fit the 10-pin R1 and 6-pin R2 connection in the back of the receiver. What cable or cables do I need to complete this mod? Thanks in advance

Do you know where I can obtain a wiring diagram for the 14 Jbl head unit?

That looks sweet! Did you end up selling your 2013 radio and does anyone know if it's plug and play to a 2012 non-JBL, non-touchscreen radio? I would love to upgrade mainly for aesthetics with a little more functionality but am very hesitant to do mods without a clear step-by-step write up. Mod day near San Diego, anyone?

I put a 2015 entune premium with nav, in my 2012. It replaced a non touch, but voice controlled unit. It was fairly easy. Just need a harness to retain USB function. Plenty of detailed writeups around. I kept the same steering wheel controls.

Sorry to bring up way old topics but I had a question about this connection. To patch a oem reverse camera in my 2011 into a 2013 oem HU. Using the 28 pin connector same as this diagram do I need all 6 of these pin outs connected? 11,12,23 & 24 are straight from the oem camera. I got that. But of the other two connections is the "trigger" that needs to be seen by three HU. HELP!
